Re: Coyle gone
The media harp on about these "top top" managers like Guardiola and Mourinho et al at these big clubs. A project like Rovers at present to keep them in the league without investment would really show if it was indeed their managerial style and tactics.
That sounds like a Rovers fans wet dream
Of course that won't happen, but I will be interesting to see who does take on the job.

I was told by a well connected Rovers fan that Coyle got the job as he was the only one who would take it.

Please, please, please let that kebab eating Oldham legend, fat boy dunn roll (literally) into town and complete the relegation job, just as the venkys pull the plug and our beloved neigh-bours are shat into a financial big, brown hole from which they aren't ever coming out of.
I think at this point my life would be complete.

Re: Coyle gone
No two ways - Rowett would never come to such a toxic club. He's had his fingers burned at Birmingham- he's not gonna dive into a worse bonfire than that down road.
I really hope that sherwood called Prick takes over and then takes them into the 3rd division before they finally burst in a chicken supernova and disappear into the depths.

Re: Coyle gone
Real shame. Let's hope he's done enough damage already.
It does seem like an odd time to pot him, though. It's also hard to see anyone of a decent standard touching that job.
Give it Shebby until the end of the season.

Ipswich "a bit more stable" - that will have the horse botherers frothing in their Y fronts!!
Re: Coyle gone
Nigel Adkins will finish off the job very nicely indeed.
A terrible shame Coyle has left of his own accord, he was beginning to show signs of real quality in turning them into one of League One's elite clubs.

I'd go in for Kenny dalglish if venkys really want to get fans onside and revive the glory days of the 90s..

Re: Coyle gone
What a shame he's gone.
You can guarantee that whoever now gets the Job will not be popular with the fans. Choosing Oily Coyle was just about the most unpopular choice I could have envisaged for the sad, deluded, chicken liveried, soon to be league 2 horse whisperers.

Re: Coyle gone
Cotterill would cause me concern, he could be decent, certainly good under a tight budget.
Hopefully they'll forget about our ex managers, although we've only needed half a dozen in the last 15 years.
compare that to Rovers revolving door.

Nixon basically saying the Venkys have no one lined up.
Be interesting to see which managers are willing to take it, but all joking apart, its still a big job and a big chance for somebody.
Not every manager gets a chance to start with no crowd to boo him!
