People will try to rock your confidence and shake your spirit, do not listen to them, yeah? If there's one thing I don't like, it's nicknames...because nicknames are bad names, yeah? Okay fatty fatty toadboy?

It's the only engagement she's ever likely to get.
You call us deluded, insular, Neanderthal and backward yet you come out with things like "a young intellectual lass like me" to describe yourself
Just so you know I also went to University. I got a First. In Mechanical Engineering. And I'm from Burnley.
Go on, Bounce back to Non League bro.

Your 'fact-checker' needs checking - we have been Champions of England 2 times not once. 1921 when we went 30 games undefeated on the way to the title and 1960 when we were not top of the division at any time until the end of the last game. We were double runners-up in 1962 (FA Cup and 1st Division), Quarter finalists in the European Cup and were considered to be one of the top teams despite needing to continually sell our best players just to pay the bills.
In the seventies time caught up with us though and we had a spectacular 12 year fall from grace that led to that Orient game and Lincoln finding themselves dropping out of the Football league for the first of, what would prove to be, several times to date. This was followed by a slow 22 year progression back to the top division of English football. Since when we have been a bit of a yo-yo team but are now enjoying our 3rd season in the Premier league with reasonable expectations of enjoying a 4th campaign starting in August.
Many of us older posters can empathise with the difficulties of lower league football as we have been part of the journey to the bottom and back - but anyone younger than 20 will not even have any memory of us playing below the Championship let alone playing the final game of a Division 4 season knowing that you have to win and hoping that someone else's result goes right for you so you avoid going into the Conference and the real possibility of your team being liquidated!
