This thread suddenly turning into an episode of 'Who Do You Think You Are?' with Sidney1st is the most bizarre thing to happen all day, and that's a pretty high bar.

What's your point? That Europeans get a better deal than us Brits? Weel who would've thunk that? Maybe one of the reasons the enlighten voted to leave perhaps.

When did that happen? I thought it was us that was ******* off? Although we are currently looking a bit stupid because no one in authority seems to know how to do it. (Getting out of Europe is making Dunkirk look easy).
However, the last thing we need is to try to link today's events in any way with Brexit. Sadly there are moronic idiots associated with every club, and even a pre-season "friendly" is an excuse for some to go in search of trouble and embarrass their club and proud country. As always it is the innocent who suffer, (and I don't just mean all the home supporters, as I'm sure their were many in the away end who were genuine supporters who had come to watch a game of football and enjoy a visit to NE Lancashire.)
I hope that some authority is able to track down those responsible for this incident, and that they receive lengthy football and travel bans. We have gone a long way to eradicating this sort of behaviour here in the UK, and a strong message needs to be sent out.

That is 1 scary haircut! No wonder he got that luck on his face.

Maybe his barber was a Hannover fan..

Translated statement from Hanover, seems the club are disappointed in the behaviour and released a similar statement to Burnlets finding the clulprits
96 nimmt Stellung zu den Vorkommnissen in Burnley 96 comments on the incidents in Burnley
06.08.2017 /
After the incidents during the test of our Bundesliga team on Saturday at FC Burnley, Hannover 96 changed today with the English police officers and discussed intensively in internal discussions about the incident.
Klub distanced itself sharply
In retrospect, the following findings emerge: At the end of the first half of the season there was a clash of the two fan camps on a grandstand of the stadium. On the orders of the local police, it was decided not to parry the game in the second half. A total of 300 Hanoverians had traveled to Burnley. The police no longer ensured security for the spectators in the stadium because, according to the lead line, 45 people from the vicinity of the fan scene of Hannover 96 could not be "under control".
We dissociate ourselves most strongly from the behavior of this group of people, who have immeasurely inflicted damage on the part of the club and also the team - the match was planned as a rehearsal before the first mandatory match next Sunday. Together with the British authorities, Hannover 96 will use all legal possibilities to identify and limit potential violators.
Violence has no place at Hannover 96
Hannover 96 has no understanding that a friendshow we had organized in England at the request of many of our fans will be abused by a minority as a stage to harm the reputation of the club and thereby affect the image of all 96 fans , The small minority responsible for breaking the game in Burnley does not represent the values that the overwhelming majority of our fans stand for. Violence, no matter what form, has no place at Hannover 96.
Everyone at Hannover 96 is looking forward to the new federal league season, asking for a mood that supports our pros on the lawn - without violence and with respect to the stadium regulations. The HDI Arena will continue to be a meeting point for all visitors, especially families and children. Our great team needs this support in the stadium.

I remember seeing a female copper arrest a Burnley fan at Blackburn in front of the Darwen End in the 70s. She got a big cheer for her efforts.
