Fans being asked to leave yesterday
Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
I was quite amused by this piece of police advice in the article about tonight's game:
With large numbers expected to be attending the game, officers are urging fans to follow some basic crime prevention advice:
• Use safe and secure car parks
• Keep your car locked with nothing valuable on display

Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
Nice use of semantics. I correctly said no one had been charged. Given the amount of press coverage about the incident, do you not suppose had any Germans been charged it would have been picked up by the UK news agencies and filtered back by now?fidelcastro wrote:I never said they had been charged. It was you who claimed as fact that they hadn't.
The fact is you don't know.

And the stewards and police start again. At the check point for getting rid of alcohol a lad puts a can down. Stewards start wrestling him saying he was taking it through when clearly he wasnt and police say hes not going on.
Hopefully he comes back through and gets on.

There was a second one who tried to back him up, however he must have been a little nervous, as he only made it on after the event, before sh1tting himself on camera.

Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
My Lad was sat next to the window on the coach which had a brick thrown through it, loads of fans on the coach pointed out the culprit to officers stood by only to be met with a shrug of the officers shoulders.
We are told we must travel on coaches for safety reasons, yet this trip was anything but safe travel for my lad who was showered in glass fragments and left with cuts to his face and ear.
He would have been safer travelling in the car with me and walking to the ground.

With bumba accusing the police of throwing out people who tried to report racist abuse it doesn't sound a good night for the police.

Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
I know it's a different era, but back in the 70's I saw about 40 Liverpool skinheads kick **** out of 2 burnley fans on Brunshaw RD. 2 Coppers stood 15 feet away just watching. When the skinheads moved on the Coppers walked over and arrested the 2 Burnley lads. What crime they were going to charge them with I still haven't worked out.Lord Rothbury wrote:Sounds about right .German thugs smash seats up and hurl them into the crowd, attack police and stewards then are allowed to leave the ground unhindered .I know lets arrest some Burnley fans for attemting to protect their children .

Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
I have seen footage of a young lad being dragged out by EFC stewards on Sunday, for apparently celebrating our goal.

I don't actually think anyone thought there would be any further action.cricketfieldclarets wrote:German mate who was over this weekend confirmed as expected. Nothings happened in Germany.
Why drag something back up, that shows so many people getting their jobs so far wrong.
Brush it under the carpet, and run the feel good story of X amount of refunded ticket money goes to charity.
Lancashire Police - Getting it wrong since nineteen.... well forever it seems.

Quelle surprise. Seem to recall people being shouted down on here when they stated this is exactly what would happen.cricketfieldclarets wrote:German mate who was over this weekend confirmed as expected. Nothings happened in Germany.

I wasn't aware the investigation in Germany would be reported by a German mate of yours. Very interesting way of doing things.cricketfieldclarets wrote:German mate who was over this weekend confirmed as expected. Nothings happened in Germany.

Re: Fans being asked to leave yesterday
I'm guessing a lot of German fans will know fans of other clubs as we do over here who will have more info. Kinda like a lot of people knew there was trouble coming when the Hanover game was announced ......ClaretTony wrote:I wasn't aware the investigation in Germany would be reported by a German mate of yours. Maybe you could find the German press reports confirming the arrests and the charges they faced?ClaretTony wrote:I wasn't aware the investigation in Germany would be reported by a German mate of yours. Very interesting way of doing things.

So one person says one German said nothing has happened and that’s good enough for you.jrgbfc wrote:Quelle surprise. Seem to recall people being shouted down on here when they stated this is exactly what would happen.

I wouldn't trust Lancashire Constabulary to run a bath, never mind liase with a foreign police force over an ongoing investigation.
