I'd never even heard of this McGregor guy until this got hyped up, let alone his chosen sport. It played out pretty much as expected though. Total mismatch but tend to agree that this was more about publicity and money than a serious bout. They achieved their goal I guess, but it was poor fare.

Absolutely awful fight - so one sided it was embarrassing.
Mayweather could have finished it in any round he chose to. He only let it go on so long to entertain himself and the crowd.

McGregor was sh-ite - his punched like a 9 year old school girl (and can I please apologise to all 9 year old school girls reading this who are saying they would have done better !)

Freak show and one of the worst sporting contests ever. Why I got up to watch it I am not sure - but at least I didn't pay for it.

I didn't watch the fight, but it sounds like I was right - Mayweather made it last long enough for the entertainment value.

Respect to the guy though. Taking away his obvious personality flaws, he's gone 50-0 which I think is impressive, to say the least. You can only beat what's infront of you and he's beaten them all.

Mayweather has ended the careers of some very promising fighters down the years.

Putting this freak show aside which was clearly only done for the money he should go down as one of the best and cleverest boxers in history.

The only thing he was really missing was the flair of someone like Sugar Ray Leonard - both in and out of the ring. But then again it could be argued that Mayweather is too clever a boxer to risk going toe to toe or start showboating which is why he is undefeated and some of the more popular greats got beaten.
