I'm very, very sure that if the majority shareholder goes "I want Sean Dyche", then that is what the chairman and the board of directors will say as wellThe board of directors make the decisions, and the chairman will have the final say.
The majority shareholder isn't even on the board of directors.

Re: Koeman sacked
I've had a 'gut feeling' for a while, like a few more on here that if the Everton job came up SD would get it. I think it would be perfect timing. Big, massive club, players coming back from injury. Fantastic fan base and a new stadium in the pipeline. Main priority for Everton this season is to steer clear of relegation. Who better to organise their defence. If he did get the job I can see Ben Mee linking up with him in January window.

Re: Koeman sacked
Cannot for one second see SD turning down Everton if they came calling. I think the Watford and Huddersfield manager would also be a good call for them if they go for a current Premier boss. However I think the owners will be looking for the time honoured continental manager with a big reputation (Anceloti type would be easier to sell to the owners).

Abramovich has the power to remove any director of Chelsea by virtue of his >50% shareholding.UpTheBeehole wrote:Is that like the board of directors at Chelsea make the decisions, and the chairman has the final say?
Bruce Buck has more of a say than Roman Abramovich?
Abramovich isn't on the board either.
Moshiri doesn't have that power at Everton.

Re: Koeman sacked
The papers will link Dyche with it, but I suspect the current climate won’t allow the Everton hierarchy to look past the fact that he’s synonymous with pragmatic, direct football and has never managed a club the size of Everton.
The Everton fans will see him as another Moyes and they want to progress beyond that era.
In some ways he’s a victim of his own particular success.

How would Dyche feel about working with their recruitment guru Steve Walsh? Can't see that working out well unless Walsh is also for the chop.

In the grand scheme of things Allardyce paying 2 million to Palace is nothing (we would have to pay that if we wanted him) - I suspect Allardyces wages would be more prohibitive to our board though and the fact he likes to sign a trillion players every transfer windowwilks_bfc wrote:Allardyce can’t take a club job until 2019 otherwise he’ll owe Palace £2m in compo

Re: Koeman sacked
If they take SD, I would employ Unsworth.
I admit this is based on his time here and the feedback the under 18's gave about him. He has a really good grip on the game and can get it across to players.
No surprise he is being successful with Everton's under 23's.
I would not employ 80% of current managers about as most just not get what Burnley is about, but Unsworth would.

Good luck to Sean if he gets the job. He's transformed Burnley and will leave the club in great shape. Hopefully we can attract a quality manager who can continue the improvements and push the team onto the next level.

Dyche's odds going the right way for us. He was 2/1 he's not 5/2.
Slaven Bilic now the fave. In fact he's not just the fave, he's now odds on to be the next Everton manager.

If Everton or Leicester don't come in form him I expect him to be with us for a few more years, there won't be an offer from a top six club.

Re: Koeman sacked
I am a HUGE Fan of Sean for what he has done for the club and the way he has developed the team and the club's training facilities etc etc, and he will leave one day but I CANNOT see him leaving us in the poo like Coyle did and expect him as one of the few men of principle in English football to wait until the end of a season to leave. I know its double standards because clubs 'fire' managers but this different - the club has been nothing but loyal to SD and I know he will repay that loyalty but not quitting mid season

Well if he ends up staying, he'll be adored even more. I still think he should. Plenty of learning to do yet as a manager. Did Sam do 8 years at Bolton? That's about right.
I'd back big Sam for Everton.

He won’t get the Everton job for the same reasons he wouldn’t appeal to around 90% of Premier League clubs.

Re: Koeman sacked
He’s done a great job for us but I’m not sure he’s done the sort of job that will make him anything more than a passing consideration to the bigger clubs, yet.
To us that’s probably madness, to another club’s chairman or owner considering style of play, European experience, foreign recruitment, wanting the fans on board etc. he may well not tick enough boxes.
He’d probably be seen as a gamble and one that the fans don’t want, which will be a consideration, no matter how silly it sounds.

If Sean goes, then he goes and I would wish him well. What I would not want to see is SD taking all his backroom staff with him. We can survive without SD but if his backroom staff stay we have some degree of continuity.
Think that I am clutching at straws though.

None other than Richard Keys, who predicted top 4 for Everton at the start of the season, so there's hope for us yet.Dyche deserves a crack at a bigger club than Burnley. He inspires men. He improves players. He’s done an unbelievable job at Burnley and should be trusted to take the next step now. He’s British as well and what’s wrong with that? After a succession of foreign failures - with more to come - let’s give our boys a chance again.

The chairman is there to manage debate around the boardroom. Most football clubs have Chairmen who also have businesses of their own to run. it is the CEO who does the work of running the club, in accord with the wishes of the shareholder(s) and the board, of course.Tall Paul wrote:The chairman doesn't make the decisions?
