And the ironing.

And the cleaning.

True stories, my wife has only the use of one arm and can't read or write now because of her stroke so I am primary care giver 24 hours a day so it's all down to me x

It's not that the staff are poorly trained, it's the **** poor working standards and respect you recieve from higher up the company, this means people quit on the daily so your staff are nearly always new - I have friends who have worked for Jame's Places for years and one who still works at the mill - all say the same.

The escalator in Tesco Burnley, how long do these people need to fix it?

I felt so sorry for the three people serving that night that I managed to collar one for a minute or two towards the end of the evening. Apparently, Warburton charged into the building the week before and lay into the manager and told him that that the previous week he had staffed the bar with a loss of £9,000. He had not only to not do it again, but had also to recover the "lost" £9,000 or he would lose his job. Hence only three people tending Britain's largest bar all evening.

I chucked the said person a handsome tip to share between the three of them. They thoroughly deserved it.

Please say it was £9,000, so we can add it to our other 'cult' figures generated on this messageboard, go on.

Narr, it was a touch short I'm afraid. Sorry to disappoint.

Probably arguing over the tariff which probably costs more than the actual part and post & packing.

I'm pretty sure we haven't left the EU just yet, so no tariff payable ?

Take the 'part' off the other one and close that one down? No?

A lot of these are funny.

Spare a bit of time to reflect on the poor souls who have to serve the general public in a retail environment though!

A lot of customers are great. But there are also the impatient, rude, arrogant and obnoxious. If faced with a frustration or problem, whether its something nor right with your food in a restaurant, or difficulty returning an item in the shop, remember the person in front of you often isn't the cause, and generally just wants to help. Jesus, the horrible ways people can address someone just trying to do their job is at times beyond belief.

When faced with your next 'retail nightmare, just remember it could be worse. You could work in retail and have to deal with nightmare customers!

Which corner? Facing the wall or not? Hands on head or by my side?
