Er, not really BOT
Cheerleading for any thread that takes the **** out of the racists on here.
We can pretend they don't post if that helps, but I'm getting very, very annoyed with what is now considered acceptable, and just not on here.

Re: Most Popular Girls Names
RLC, Charles Saatchi's daughter is also called Phoebe. I don't think I've got any children. I might have three but nobody from child maintenance has ever contacted me, so probably nowt is the answer.
If I did have children, I've no idea what I would call them. Phoebe is a nice name in fact nearly all those names on the list are nice. My point is that they are too nice, probably.

Let's pretend that there are lots and lots of racist posts which are spoiling this board.Lancasterclaret wrote:Er, not really BOT

Let's not pretend that starting threads like this and agendas carried over into multiple other threads aren't.
Carry on challenging the posts that you deem unacceptable, but the OP doesn't need a cheerleader.

Re: Most Popular Girls Names
And do they give any clues how to pronounce it? Is it the Churchillian "Never"? Let alone the difficulties the poor girl will have for the rest of her life spelling it out, especially now that misspellings on computer mean so much more trouble than misspellings handwritten.Bainsyclaret wrote:Heaven backwards (Nevaeh)
I assumed it was a botch attempt at the Irish "Niaomh" (I think"!), pronounced "Neeve".

Poppycock derives from the Dutch dialect 'Pappekak' meaning 'soft dung'.Dazzler wrote:Poppycock! More like a porn star name.

Read the Qu'ran first.starting_11 wrote:Google it you lazy fisherman
When describing the terrors of the day of judgement, the killers of newborn girls, (a popular pastime in pre Islamic Arabia - often by burying alive under the sand) are asked to ponder this,
'When the female (infant) buried alive is questioned for what crime she was killed...'
Surah Al Takvir Chapter 81 verses 8 and 9.
Read the whole surah for the whole context.

Re: Most Popular Girls Names
I'm 54 and the top 50 seems to include my Grandmother's name ( b.1894 ), some of her friends and a lot of great Aunts ... Iris, Ivy, Rose, Florence , Millie, Grace, Alice and Elsie !! I know these things move in cycles .... I wonder if Edna, Ida, Winifred and Ada are due a comeback ??Putneyclaret wrote:The top 20 look like a cast list from Made in Chelsea, like.
If the Lord spares me, I'm looking forward to the day, maybe in 30 years, when one of my as yet unborn Grandchildren, rings me up announcing that they're naming their daughter Mary, Jacqueline or Rebecca ... you know, something really far out there !!

I guarantee there's a pregnant teenager somewhere who thinks 'Ebola' would make a lovely name for their child.
