Re: Dyche signs !
So far this January we have signed a 20 odd cap former England international who has played in two World Cups, signed arguably our biggest saleable asset James Tarkowski to a four and a half year contract and then the best manager of my lifetime has also committed the next five years to the club.
I still think there's more signings to come as well, what a great time to be alive.

Re: Dyche signs !
1 week tomorrow the transfer deadline also we have a game that day which will make things harder
Re: Dyche signs !
I wonder in a small way if we have sheep teeth to thank, in that the club learnt a bitter lesson at the betrayal from this bounder.
I remember Flood saying that it was an experience that must not be repeated i.e you make sure you retain your key staff.
Wonderful news and integral to our further progression is this new deal.

Re: Dyche signs !
Nothing is more stupid than to offer any manager that length of contract.
It tells of SD's failure to persuade any top club to take him on.
It ensures that if things go wrong we are straight-jacketed.
These lengths of contracts rarely work and this one won't.

Time will tell, but for me totally the wrong move particularly when our season is faltering.

So you think getting a younger, inexperienced player in will be more helpful?ablueclaret wrote:Time will tell, but for me totally the wrong move particularly when our season is faltering.

Re: Dyche signs !
Neither signing fills me with hope.
I'm not denying that SD might deserve a long contract but deserving and football reality are two different things.
I remember Newcastle going down this route a few years ago and living to regret it.
Signing old players and managers on long contracts is a recipe for trouble nine times out of ten.

I can't see what there was to learn from that episode.bodge wrote:I wonder in a small way if we have sheep teeth to thank, in that the club learnt a bitter lesson at the betrayal from this bounder.

He'd only been with us 5 minutes really and we didn't have the same money or immediate knowledge of our near future.
The lesson that hopefully was learnt came after Coyle left.

Re: Dyche signs !
abc you need to stand back and contemplate the magnitude of the man's achievements with us and where he has put us relative to our peer group (Bolton, Barsteward Rovers, Blackpool) and "bigger" clubs (Both Sheffields, Leeds, Forest, both Birmingham clubs, Norwich, Boro, Sunderland etc etc etc) in an era when we really have no right to be where we are. Newcastle gave Pardew a long contract after a relatively short period of dubious "achievement" and anyone with eyes in their head and ears to hear with can tell that Dyche is a leader of men, not a self-regarding chump like Pardew. Like the vast majority of Burney fans I consider this to be absolutely superb news.

Newcastle gave Pardew an 8 year contract after less than two years at the club, the situations are completely different.ablueclaret wrote:Neither signing fills me with hope.

Well done everyone concerned.
Time to name a Road now... The Sean Dyche Way
I bet you wouldn`t be allowed to change lanes on that throughfare. VERY rigid rules - stay in your allotted space, no changing of driving styles regardless of the road conditions, etc...
Take a chill pill! Only kidding!!!!!! Indeed a great piece of news.
Re: Dyche signs !
So what you're saying is that rather than give Sean Dyche a new contract, it would have been more sensible to sack him and reappoint Brian Laws.ablueclaret wrote:Nothing is more stupid than to offer any manager that length of contract.
Excuse me if I disagree.

He isn't saying that, and you know it.
With two pencils up his nose and his underpants on his head, he's saying Wibble.
And he's also saying that giving a man a long contract who has been with us for over 5 years, and has given us the biggest success in 40 odd years, is stupid.
He's also saying...... look at me, aren't I a tit.

Re: Dyche signs !
We should treat this abc tool like a child. Ignore him when he misbehaves. I'm pretty sure it's a troll Rovers fan anyway.
What an absolutely great day to be a claret. This is the best new we could have wished for. The rolling deal always worried me, this is a great commitment. Let's face it, Sean Dyche is the reason we are where we are and he deserves a whopping wage with a long contract. He's worth every penny for what he has achieved, and continues to achieve, with us. We should cherish these times and never take for granted where we are right now. What a time to be a Claret!

Re: Dyche signs !
I think you will find the only reason Pardew got such a long contract was because of his gambling debts which he owed to Ashley. It was of ensuring Ashley got his money back through the clubs money and not his ownablueclaret wrote:Neither signing fills me with hope.

ABC said this about SD's rolling contract a month or so ago
which seems like he was saying it was a bad thing for the club. Now he thinks it was a good thing.ablueclaret wrote:His ambition is to manage a top club he's said it many times.
Why do you think he has a rolling contract.
We might like him to stop here but he won't
Liverpool a likely destination.

The troll lives.
Please all punters stop referring to this person as a Burnley fan/supporter...he clearly isn't.
i really have no idea why he is on here.
