Re: Clitheroe CC Not Guilty
Just one last word from me on this.
I think the most telling and disappointing part of Judgement is this:-
Mr Swanney, Honorary Solicitor to the League, has been subjected during the course of preparation and the hearings to both personal and professional criticism and, after one hearing, was the target of personal abuse.
These are proceedings relating to conduct within a local cricket league and there are neither the funds nor the resources to carry out an investigation with the safeguards and checks required in Court proceedings.
The Panel is fully satisfied that his preparation for, and conduct in presenting, the proceedings has been exemplary and in accordance with best professional standards.
The Panel is extremely grateful to him for the huge amount of work he has put into the case.
Disregarding the outcome, this says an awful lot about how the whole episode evolved. A man working for free, for a league he loves treated shockingly. Hopefully a full public apology will follow, it should.

All travelling fans to be issued with a brown envelope which should be enthusiastically waved every time a Clitheroe wicket falls .house claret wrote:running 5 double deckers to clitheroe be at the club 8 00am 9th june if u can sup

And if you are receiving brown envelopes, keep it to yourselves. Don't go back to your previous club telling people how much is in them.
