We look like we’re running through treacle, second best all over the park

I disagree. We've played some good football but we're lacking that clinical edge once again. Also some poor defending hasn't helped us.Rick_Muller wrote:We look like we’re running through treacle, second best all over the park

We need to Bring Wood or Vokes on.

Ball loose in box after Burnley FK but it's in Pickford's hands now.

We are not going to score these small margins are getting bigger...
Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
Could be 4 down good job Walcott has not got his boots on
Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
We started off quite well but I don't fancy us to win this. Highly unlikely we will score two no matter how well we play.

If we get a goal before HT, I think we can do the impossible and win. Otherwise draw at very best I reckon.

It could be 4-4 to be honest.
14 crosses mostly of high quality.

Creating chances, while best striker at the club is sat on the bench, way to go Sean

What`s Lennon doing there???? His body shape was saying `cross` when he should have been knocking it in from 8 yards.

Sounds like we'd be better with Wood and Vokes instead of Hendrick and Barnes

We don't score in the first half generally.

Good half of football, enjoying it despite the score, some good movement, we look sharper and look like scoring. Keep it up Burnley.
Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
We are getting crosses in to be fair. We need to get Wood on early not on 80 mins.

Misunderstandings a few times between long term players and new boy Lennon regarding underhit passes/ Lennon not getting to ball quick enough.

You can't sub Barnes after a half like that! He's been excellent.
As an aside, the volume of the support is embarrassing.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
HT. 0-1. Not actually bad - we've done okay in possession and shown some attacking intent. Maybe not created enough clear cut chances though and we're not clinical enough anyway. Please for the love of God, can we have some changes at HT? Because we won't score in a million years with the current setup.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
Wood just back but i guess Vokes thinks whats going on.
Hendrick offers noting and i mean nothing in the forward areas.
Poor by Dyche to have the wingers on the right side then play Hendrick who hardly going to win the ball or get it wide because he playing as a striker really which lets be honest he will never be.
I understand most of the times the logic behind the number 10 but today if baffling.. Pressure i guess.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
Wood for Hendrick at half time or we lose.
Simple as, Jeff has been gash again. I’m a fan of his in general but he has been absolutely **** for at least 5 or 6 games in a row and was totally anonymous in the first forty five minutes. He is offering nothing - brutal maybe but it’s as simple as that. Get Wood on.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
Hendrick was probably our best player that half.
We were playing really well until they scored and then shut up shop. Going to be tough to break them down now.

I’d bring Wood on immediately, then sub Barnes with Vokes around 65 mins.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
Dyche has to be questioned:
How many games have we scored in in the first half ?
Have we ever won in the PL when going behind ?
Are there any fans who think Hendrick is the answer on this type of no 10 role ?
Barnes is a handful but he ain't going to get us the goals. Need to be proactive make half time changes and get Wood on and give Nkoudou more than 10 mins.
Yes I know we are 7th and I used to watch us in the 4th Division

Didn`t see the first 10 mins but from then until the 25th minute I thought he played really well but since then he has gone back into his shell.Tall Paul wrote:Hendrick was probably our best player that half.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Sticky Toffees
He not winning the 2nd ball and is playing too far forward and on the last man.
Barnes can play 10 better with Wood or Vokes
We will only get back into this by getting the ball in the box.

We've been great with the ball, which is what a lot of people were complaining about.Blackrod wrote:Dyche has to be questioned:

But poor without it, not enough intensity without the ball and Tarkowski could have cost us at least another goal with his misreading of the game.

The first sub should be GKNK. Lennon said he wouldn't celebrate if he scored and he won't.
Barnes and Hendrick have both been fine. We just need that killer delivery.
