Haven't been less bothered in years, being two down at halftime..Anyway, Wenger's not getting more than a draw in his final home game..UTC!
Re: Arsene XI + ref versus Mighty Clarets
Maybe get Wells on with Vokes soon, nothing to lose and would be good to see Wells for more than a few minutes....come on You Clarets! If it ends up being an off day.....I guess they deserve one

May as well get Marney on to make the second half worth watching.

Outplayed. Lack of effort by a few. Cant believe Sean will tolerate that display. Might be throwing a few tea cups in honor of Sir Alex !! Need to step it up otherwise it could easily be 5.

Re: Arsene XI + ref versus Mighty Clarets
I think the timing of the Greek kid has been almost perfect. Break down the attacking threat by any means - nasty player.
Can't see this going our way. They are very slick going forward with some nice passing play to open us up, even Jack Wheelchair is looking very good. I think our only chance is from set plays and our chanice of winning them has been reduced by the loss of Ashley (even though the ref doesn't look like he wants to give us much anyway).
I would stick Wells on in a bit, maybe take Westwood off and drop Hendrick back. A fresh pair of legs and enthusiasm might bring a bit of life back to our play.

i agree. talent wise the top 6 are light years ahead. BUT it shows how great SD has managed this squad. it took until the 36th game for arsenal to seal 6th place.ClaretEngineer wrote:We’re getting nowt from this game the way we are playing. That said the way we are playing is a reflection of how Arsenal are playing.
They are light years ahead of us and it’s showing today.

Cant do that without Wood. He haa been crucial to us turning secent enough fighting performances into wins. Check our record without him in the side.piston broke wrote: We keep chipping balls out 30yds straight to them, instead of launching it over their heads, turning them and getting up the field. No wonder they keep us pegged in.
I can’t even imagine what SD is screaming at Tarks and Westwood for peeing around in their own area instead of getting rid.
Hopefully Wells gets 45mins for us and we have a good look at him.
COYC.
Missing the Mee-Tarks partnership as well
Plus Lennon and Ward have been a bit below over tje last few games.

Re: Arsene XI + ref versus On Holiday Clarets
I think my header is more accurate. Since the 10 minute mark of the Leicester game it is as though we turned the switch to 'job done'!

The ones that aren't good enough or aren't going to get a game for 1 reason or another.watsonsclarets wrote:The deadwood.
In my opinion
Wells Walters Vokes are no where near good/fit enough
GKN will leave
Long 4th choice CB
Hendrick 4th choice MC
Lennon may need a pre-season
Can't keep playing players out of position.

Dead wood includes chris wood Sam oaks , westwood, cork , and Dyche (He barks orders )MACCA wrote:Training ground exercise for Arsenal.
So far off the pace, not even looking to make it a physical encounter.
Can't expect to compete carrying a few of players who shouldnt be near any premier league teams starting line up.
Great season, regroup over the summer with a chsncd to ditch the dead wood.

Only just tuning in now and glad I've missed it! Are we **** today or are Arsenal just very good?
I was hoping we'd play with a bit of freedom today knowing that our fate has been decided.

complete capitulation from us today
Re: Arsene XI + ref versus Mighty Clarets
I like Vokes. Given a full season in a 442 he will get double figures, however our style doesn't suit him, and he looks like he's running through treacle.watsonsclarets wrote:I can not really argue with that Vokes has been my favourite player.

I'd be shocked if he got regular games in this league ever again.

That’s a major fault with Pope , he doesn’t dive , rather go with his legs

Re: Arsene XI + ref versus Mighty Clarets
Yes, we're terrible today. But if you'd told me in August that we'd be disappointed to lose at the Emirates in a battle for 6th place in the penultimate game of the season I'd have order a few bags of whatever you'd been smoking. I'll be honest, after the first result I thought it would be all downhill from there. Unbelievable season and I for one don't begrudge the lads starting their holidays a week early.
Bring on Europe!

Your right he not mobile enough for me either looks sluggish but i guess he a type who needs games and your right if we have fit strikers he struggling for game time.MACCA wrote:I like Vokes. I hope the next Arsenal manager is an absolute flop.
Some of the football that Arsenal play is outstanding, and that’s all down to Arsene and his staff.

Can’t believe anyone is actually arsed about this. Wenger’s last game, sunny day in London, Europe’s confirmed anyway- we were never going to go out all guns blazing. Stop whinging, switch off your telly if it upsets you that much and look forward to a prosperous transfer window and an incredible European tour!
