Re: An UTC band or orchestra
I've just spent the day doing a song mix on Logic Pro x (about 25 tracks) for someone on my iMac.
I also play guitar, bass, mandolin, can get by on drums & keyboard.
Can I be of use?

From the above, it appears that you can be of great use to us Doug.dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:27 pmI've just spent the day doing a song mix on Logic Pro x (about 25 tracks) for someone on my iMac.

I obviously cant speak for upanatem, but I think the next logical step, once I add the drumming
is to introduce a bass line.
We could continue dialogue and transfer files via email, as we have done so far.
Hope to hear from you in due course.

The answer is 'yes'! Sounds like you're our man for mixing and producing, if you're up for it, as well as bass and keys. You and I should also be able to share files seamlessly since we both have Logic. When Funky has done his bit on drums and set up Dropbox, you could add bass and keys. However, knowing singers, as I do, be prepared to rearrange stuff to suit – in one case my proposed middle 8 suddenly became the chorus!dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:27 pmI've just spent the day doing a song mix on Logic Pro x (about 25 tracks) for someone on my iMac.

So, what I do is play my stuff in quickly, just get it down. Then, when the song is more fully developed, go back and do more takes to get it spot on. I read somewhere that Steely Dan used to do 70 to 80 takes to get things just right, and they used brill session musicians. Others prefer a '1 take should do it' approach to capture a more 'live' feel; but no way am I that good!
