The Bible is evidence. The acts that set up the Church are evidence.

I didn't change anything, you waded in banging on about Jesus being a real person when I was talking about God's.dsr wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 6:55 pmNow you're changing the question. Of course there is no proof either way that God existed or that God created the earth. As the scientists put it, more or less, the universe may have "just happened".
But there is significant evidence that Jesus existed and was the Son of God; whether you choose to believe the evidence or not is up to you.
Jesus was a man, I'm not disputing that, it's never been proven he was the son of god or god himself.
The Shroud has been proven to be only a few hundred years old though through carbon dating.
Feel free to lay out the evidence for us that he was the son of a god, which should then mean you can prove beyond doubt that a god exists.
This should be a world first, we are such lucky people on here to be present for such an event.

OK this is where the fun begins, shame I'm about to go to the cinema.
Which version of the bible are you referring too?
There are 27 and no two are alike.
The most commonly used one was written at the request of a king who was allegedly homosexual, something that's a sin.
A man made book does not prove the existence of a god, especially as it was written over hundreds of years.

You're confusing the words "evidence" and "proof". Evidence is in the Bible. Proof isn't. The Turin shroud is irrelevant and I don't know why you keep raising it.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 7:06 pmI didn't change anything, you waded in banging on about Jesus being a real person when I was talking about God's.

See my other post about the Bible.
As for the Shroud, its viewed as a sacred relic because its claimed to have been used to wrap the body of christ.
If that's proven as false what else could be?
Could it be one of the dozens of nails around Europe that are claimed to be those used at the crucifixion?
Are you really accepting that Noah lived for 1k years and his family repopulated the earth by themselves?
Incest is best...

The Bible was written by many authors, but the most relevant bits were written by people going by the names of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul, none of whom were kings. Herod was king at the time but there is no evidence that he requested the Bible or any part of it be written.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 7:08 pm![]()

King James version is the most commonly used Bible and its reputed he was gaydsr wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 7:11 pmThe Bible was written by many authors, but the most relevant bits were written by people going by the names of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul, none of whom were kings. There are 27 different versions of the bible in multiple languages and not a single one is identical to the other.
The Bible was written over a period of centuries so I'll accept that Herod wasn't the king at the time, unless he had the lifespan of Noah.

There has been a lot of educated guessing in this matter, which is not ideal.
I believe the testing in Burnley is over 3 weeks and the number of positive results can be recorded each week.
If this weekly number doesn't increase and the number tested each week is the same then there is up to date evidence that the rate of infection in Burnley isn't increasing.
This is of course only one way of looking at it and no one knows if it will work out that way. If the % positive rises over each of the weeks this could be see as evidence that the infection rate is rising in Burnley.
When I had my test this week most people were of the older age group and the few I spoke with said they had no symptoms. I saw no young people in the queue, which was long, with people arriving all the time.
The whole thing though is a farce when we come to look at the current towns with a low number of new cases but still included in the 'local' restrictions. The government appear to be playing games affecting the general health of people that don't need to be affected by this policy.
This is my opinion.

PHE coronavirus case tracker. Is the best place. There is an interactive map and you can download the spreadsheet that sits behind it.
Cases in Burnley more than halved in the last week.
