The ambition can only really be to continue turning a decent profit as in the last few seasons.
Anyone thinking there's gonna be an influx of big names is living in La La Land...and any attempt to get a tiny club like ours competing with the really big fish will lead only to a crash and burn ending...
As with Garlick it'll be about Prem survival and cashing in on talent we've developed. It worked for Garlick..theyll hope it works for them.
So, in effect, no real change...as long as they retain Dyche...

Re: Realistic ambitions under ALK
Happy New Year Clarets one and all. I'd like to see the club hold on to Tarks (and Mee). The JT/BM partnership is crucial to the success of Dycheball. We don't look the same if either is not available. Any replacement for Tarks would take time to bed in and achieve the same security. I realise that this probably means dangling a few golden carrots (and perhaps some silver ones down the ranks) but maybe we can do that now (?) Much depends on Tarks' own ambitions I suppose. If it's about England selection and European football then maybe he'll be tempted to move elsewhere in any case, but I'd like to see him stay. If Gareth Softs***e continues to think that Mings is a better player than Tarks then any England hopes Tarks might have will be a fair way down the line. UTC EAC
