Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
Thought he looks good but wasn’t involved too much. Looked decent going forward the few times he did. Quick and skilful. I noticed he looked particularly decent defensively, cutting off a lot of attacks. Can see why we wanted him with our style of play.
Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
He's a left sided player. Played mainly at left midfield with last season at left back.
Not to say he won't play on the right for us though, he spent a bit of time there the season before and our current right winger is obviously also left footed.

I think it’s highly likely, if not guaranteed that he’ll be playing on the right for us.
The only way we see him on the left is if Dwight starts right or central (which Dyche usually doesn’t fancy).

The ESPN pictures must have been strange if they showed him playing on the right. I watched on YouTube and he was on the left.KateR wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 10:13 pmwatched on ESPN in English, they certainly knew he'd joined Burnley, mentioned a few times. As not shocking pitch, certain got pace, which is one thing most have been asking for, nothing great but, he is injury free and can run, plus played right hand side, which is where I think he will play mostly for us. Additionally, could help to see a formation change from the normal 442.
Looking forward to seeing him playing on a good pitch where we will all be able to judge better I feel.

it is a strange one for me I admit, however I was sure he was playing right hand side early in the game where I sat and watched but from about 30 minutes in I was doing other things while the game was on and watching occasionally but more listening. Someone else said the same thing earlier, so I must have got it wrong but he was definitely down on the right and as he had touches, they were mentioning his name plus the number on his back clearly looked like a number 11 to me.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:23 pmThe ESPN pictures must have been strange if they showed him playing on the right. Surely he'll fit in on the right for us, and if the reports are correct that he possesses pace then all the better as far as I'm concerned, the onlyClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:24 pmDon’t know about that. Dyche said we would get him here and then see where he might fit in.

Maxwell Cornet was number 11 and played on the left, sometimes forward and often also getting back to defend. A lot easier to pick him out in the second half as the left was the nearest side of the pitch. (Watching on youtube on my laptop - small screen). OK, I mainly watched the first half, after watching 10th to 20th minute of the first half. Occasionally, MC moved across the pitch to the middle, but this was when the Cameroon were attaching down the right.KateR wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:46 pmit is a strange one for me I admit, however I was sure he was playing right hand side early in the game where I sat and watched but from about 30 minutes in I was doing other things while the game was on and watching occasionally but more listening. Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
He spent last season playing left back for the first time in his career. He's predominantly a left footed right winger and I'm certain the plan for us is to play him on the right wing.
Of course being versatile is great too and I'm sure we'll see him on the left wing too. Left back? Maybe sometime in the future.
