Some good lads in that lineup. Although a couple of years younger than me: Reeves, Routledge and Lumb all used to knock around the top end of Nelson - Townhouse Rd.
Think Tony Clark was a Linkside Avenue-er too.

Anyone recognise the WHS team from 81/82? We won the Burnley and Pendle school league or whatever it was called.

L-R ? Mike Ashforth, Paul Sutcliffe (RIP), me, Steven Slater, Simon Bailey, Andrew Booth, Asif Hamid, ?, Mr Ashley (I think)
Isn't that Sean Payne on the left Herts. Fits with the group - Asif is right. Don't know the girl and don't recognise you either although most of those on that photo have been to our house at some point!

Good photos here aren't they?
Next to Rodders is Trout or Trouty.

Standige and Cats still go on matchday. Not sure about any others. Used to have a pint with Standige and Rodders in the Park View Post match.

Back right looks like Mark Caton, who was a regular with St Pauls for a few years. His elder brother, Steve, was a goalkeeper as I recall.

Front left is Adam Markin, younger brother to Steve who is on the early team photo of the 1979 leavers.

That’s Ged Ivers’ team. Definitely Tony Rodwell, Arshad, Mark Caton, Jon Rushton Polly etc. He was always proud of his “invincibiles”.

I think Tony L still goes on. Always remember standing in the Bee hole and him giving Paul Weller sone real grief!!!! He once dropped his pie on the longside back when we were still at school. Oh the hilarity!!!!!

Tony L was a big fan. Particularly of Big Vince. He had 'BIG VINCE' emblazoned on the back of his footy shirt for PE.
Unfortunately the 'B' dropped off so it just said 'IG VINCE' lol.

(well it was funny at the time)

I see Chadwick had his BRFC shirt on.

Just a reminder that it is Lew Birchall's funeral tomorrow, 11am Sacred Heart Church in Colne. For any of his ex pupils who are interested, a short message from Lew's daughter and includes a link to the funeral which can be watched live or after the event. My thoughts will be with his family tomorrow and i will be raising a glass to a great teacher and a fantastic bloke.

On behalf of my mum Catherine, my brother Andrew and myself I would like to thank everyone for their comments on here. They have made us feel really proud of Dad and mean a lot to us. It is possible to view the funeral service online either live or recorded and can be accessed via the church website goodshepherdpendle.org.uk
