Ireland v Scotland is more like United Nations v Southern Hemisphere. It’s all Van der Fliers, Steyns, Akis, Nels, Schoemans not to mention Hansen, Park Gibson and Lowe. The 3 year residency rule was crazy, particularly when the Irish Provinces ship so many Southern Hemisphere players into their sides.

Go away CC with that above or shall we talk about English Cricket in the past or other sports ?

Anyway will hope the English manage a draw tonight and no more :D

Decent refereeing, decent TMO and players who show respect……oh and the French look a bit quick.

Sorry, I thought this was about Rugby. There is a cricket post though if you want to put something on that.

Great Try and Conversion by England to bring it back to 18-13. This is a very good French team though.

We would be dangerous if we couikd convert chances. I don't think we've scored many tries this year Italy aside.

Enjoyed that. Really good French team this. England did well but France quicker in every aspect.

Congrats to France, the best watch of the 6N with their running backs, but some odd calls.
In the build up to their first two tries there were dropped balls but no angles were shown to see if they were knock-ons or not. Although their final try came from a scrum after the ref was struck by the ball; in the move that led to that two of their forwards broke out of a maul and took out two English tacklers allowing the ball carrier a free run. That shouldn’t have been missed.

France easily the best team, and deserving GS winners, Ireland also enjoyed a good tournament, England, Scotland & Wales mixed fortunes to say the least, and Italy will take great heart at finally breaking their long losing streak.

What's caught my eye is the amount of youngsters fielded, and that has to bode well heading towards the WC in 2023.

Must admit, enjoyment in defeat watching that last night……….great match, great atmosphere, played in a great spirit with England players staying on the pitch to congratulate the winners. Oh, and no reported trouble with the England fans!😀

Josh Van der Flier was born in Wicklow. Pretty sure that’s still in Ireland.
And do you think England might have fared better if Manu Tuilagi had been fit? Or if the Vinupola brothers had been selected?

Fantastic to see that Italy beat Wales in Cardif but this will be the moment I'll remember. With 3 minutes to go, Welsh wing Josh Adams was awarded the " Man of the Match " award by TV summarizer Jonathan Davies, only for Italian full back Ange Capuozzo to then cap a brilliant display by creating the winning try out of nothing. After the final whistle, Adams sought out Capuozzo and putting aside his own disappointment, presented him with the award ! One of the many great things about this game, is the men and women it attracts ...

The other piece of encouraging news for Italy, is that their U20's beat Wales yesterday, which meant they finished equal 3rd, after also beating England and Scotland.

Yes that was a great gesture by Adams, and that was a hell of a try at any point, but to pull a score like that out of the bag in the dying seconds shows Italy do have it in them to compete, and the encouragement for them is they're building a young team, which if their U20's continue to improve might well be a force again in the Six Nations in 2-3 years time.
