I think Dyche’s downfall was ultimately not working out that our style needed a complete overhaul after Wood left, and probably before he did too.
Our style of play needed an overhaul well before Wood left - should have been done at least 18 months ago
A prime example of proof, if it were needed
We capitulate to Norwich with a lifeless, soulless display and then Newcastle go there and win by three
Football always move on but Dyche struggles with that

Collins has scored 2 goals in 13 for us this season. Wood has scored 2 in 14 for Newcastle. Not that we had any say in the matter, but selling him was a hilarious bit of business for us.
Comparing Collins scoring record to Wood's looks good if you want to make the point we did well to get a lot of cash for Wood.
You could however, use the same comparison for Wout to suggest we've wasted a lot of cash on his signing but I think when you look at it in that way you'll realise that both Wood and Wout can make a positive impact on their new teams aside from scoring goals

I think that Weghorst plus £13M in the bank is a good deal for Wood if you look at it that way.
As has been mentioned Wood suits a very direct game. He was definitely a player for Dyches method of play, which makes me wonder about Weghorst being a Dyche signing.
I’m not surprised Wood has been dropped he’s hardly pulled up any trees at Newcastle and he will be forgotten about at the end of the season. Might find him at a championship club in the next season or 2.

Yep Newcastle sweeping Norwich aside with ease puts our horror show there into real perspective.
And how we made Norwich look so good is baffling.

I don’t know why any Burnley would care less if he played for Newcastle or not but the Newcastle fans that I have talked too all suggested he’s had a positive impact since his arrival and we’re happy with him. Clearly though they needed more goals but he made the ball stick up front where as before him it just went straight back.
