As harsh as it sounds, I’m glad to see the back of Weghorst for this game, and probably the subsequent games actually.
I don’t think it’s harsh, he offers precious little.

I'll give it to MJ though, he's done something Dyche never would and has adapted.

That looks horrendous!
The team is bare bones and the bench is full of not so good kids.

Wegorst, Lennon and Bardsley available as recognised subs! No Pieters either. Hennesy will be striker soon!
Let's hope the team has enough puff and keep them out.

While that bench is as weak as they come I'm excited one of two young lads could get on and impress.

I still think that there’s a player in there, but there’s only so much that can be blamed on not playing to his strengths. There needs to be an element of working himself into games and adapting himself.

It’s not easy for a lot of foreign players to come into this league, especially midway through a season. Hopefully 22/23 we will see much more from him - his promising start seems a long time ago now.

Particularly if our only means of attack will be on the break.
Weghorst works hard but that lack of pace is showing.

He’s a luxury player, not one for a relegation battle.

I don’t think he will start again this season tbh

I think he holds the ball up wonderfully. Of all the games I’d say we need him up top, I’d have thought it would be this one.

I don’t think I’d class him as a luxury player - but I get where you’re coming from.

Pietiers and Stephens injured? , another blow, would have been more balanced with Pietiers left side of defence or another central midfielder with Stephens 🤷‍♂️

Fair play to MJ. He's made a big call by dropping Wout to the bench. He has not been in form for a good while. Hope Barnes makes himself a nuisance up top and that we frustrate and disrupt Spurs's passing game at every opportunity. Yes that bench is inexperienced, but what else could MJ have done? He will have worked with some of these players in the U23's, so am sure he will have given them lots of input and hopefully confidence to impress at PL level. We need to be bringing some of this talent through at some point. UTC.

Weghorst dropped?
'Dropped' or maybe carrying an injury? Looks like a line up designed to disrupt the opposition and go for the dullest of dull 0-0 draws, but then with such a weak bench there are few other options.

I think we’ll struggle not to damage our goal difference too much. I’d take a 2-0 loss here and now.

Seen one line up with 5-2-3-1 with Roberts and Taylor as wing backs.

Jacko is either a football genius or we’ll get mullered.

————————Pope
———Lowton Collins Long
Roberts—————————Taylor
McNeil Brownhill Cork Cornet
————————Barnes

With 8 first teamers out it's now wonder we're stretched to breaking point, I expect a defeat today, but the main thing is keeping it respectable, and not picking up further injuries ahead of the last 2 matches.

Totally agree regarding Brighton doing us a huge turn, as it's hard to see where any points are coming from with that line-up.

Weghorst benched! Lovely stuff.

Maybe this is the kick up the arse he needed, who knows? He might have been in a Wood-esque comfort zone. He clearly doesn’t enjoy not playing as evidenced by his petulant strop on the bench at Watford after he got taken off, so perhaps this could reinvigorate him!

As scary as that lineup is, it is the best we can put out and it does appear that just adaptable to different formations

With our best line up today we would have had little chance with what this game means to a full strength Spurs

Good to see Jackson push Roberts up , hopefully with a view to reducing Son's potency.
There's more mobility in the side than against Villa which hopefully will reduce the supply to Kane.
It really is a case of fingers crossed though

With Dyche there wasn't even a discussion.
