Re: Eric Pieters Article about his departure
I don’t think we could have reached an agreement with him anyway in a financial sense even with lowering wage demands, Martin Kelly also went there who was probably on low PL wages West Brom can afford to pay it & Jed Wallace opted to go in that direction, we can’t compete financially with West Brom because of the four letter word beginning with a D people are uncomfortable discussing, it was talked about moving away from veterans into youth but also keeping a odd 1 for experience that didn’t seem to happen with mee going also more understandable with Brentford than West Brom though.bfcmik wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:55 pmI have been offered new contracts when I was working. If I had just turned around and flat out stated I wouldn't sign it I am absolutely certain no other offer would follow and I would be out the door sharpish. However, when I would tell them I would be interested but there were a few details that needed further discussion then we would, generally, sit down and discuss things.

Re: Eric Pieters Article about his departure
Pieters made a bit of a comment about the academy players going to Portugal, a rather superior sort of comment IMO.
I wonder if that was part of the 1st team culture prior to VK's arrival?
