Re: Happy Valley
imo It lead you to believe that they would put the murder of the wife onto the pharmacist ’he supplied drugs out and lived 100 yard from the murder home’.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:31 amBrilliant series, brilliant acting and brilliant ending.
And not knowing the result of the Teachers wife's murder will keep people talking about it for years.

It did give that impression but I'm sure people will give other theories for years to come, which is good script writing.Dodobdobodobo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 10:15 amimo It lead you to believe that they would put the murder of the wife onto the pharmacist ’he supplied drugs out and lived 100 yard from the murder home’.

I think "is TLR dead?" would keep people talking more.

Re: Happy Valley
personally i thought the ending was marvelous.
i thought lancashire was going to beat tommy to death but i suppose that would have been obvious.
glad the crooked chemist got it as well.

He'd crack like an egg under questioning. No chance on earth he'd get away with it.
Re: Happy Valley
Seem to remember a policeman claim he'd been abducted by aliens back in the Seventies. Only in Tod. As for Happy Valley, brilliant.

Re: Happy Valley
Over Christmas/New Year period I watched the first two series again. The plan was to then watch series three but for whatever reason I didn’t.
I’ve finally watched it this week and then read through the whole of this thread. I thought it was superb television, brilliantly written and brilliantly acted by such as Sarah Lancashire & James Norton.
I was expecting some dramatic ending but thought the way it was done was so much better.
What a shame that’s it. Wonderful stuff again from Sally Wainwright.

Re: Happy Valley
Was going to ask about this yesterday.
I thought I’d bought the whole series but mine ended after episode 4….. I’m hoping the other 2 magically appear soon…. Riveting stuff!
Agree regarding Sarah’s Lancashire & James Norton’s performances….excellent!

Re: Happy Valley
Fully agree with that Tony. I was also expecting an almost unbearable ending with some key relative being killed or something. But it was brilliantly written and the ending really made you think about the whole thing in a different light. Very clever I thought.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 3:19 pmOver Christmas/New Year period I watched the first two series again.
