Surely that would just be on the same conjecture of failure, Dyche, whatever ones thoughts of him, is a very strong character who commands respect, he wouldn't win Everton trophies but he have them in a lot better shape than they are now.

Rational thinking isn’t something that has echoed in the upper echelons of Goodison Park, they would’ve taken him 5 years ago otherwise. The best Dyche can hope for is a top 10 Championship club now the way managerial appointments seem to be going.

Bear with me here, but is it just possible that a club that spend months in a takeover battle, didn't invest in an aging squad and a manager who just ran out of ideas and didn't utilise the players as well as he used to just ran out of love which each other?

I mean, I never thought I'd not want SD managing my club, but I was perfectly happy to accept him leaving at the end of the season in which he got potted because it just didn't feel "right" (if that makes sense) and there was a clear feeling of the inevitability of relegation when we took so long to win our 2nd game
