Re: Wout OUT!
Is Weghorst a good footballer? - Undeniably. You don’t score over 100 goals in the professional game if you’re not good. Would he fit into our team? - probably given the way we don’t rely on our number 9 being our main goal threat. Would I want to see him leading our line next season? No.
Re: Wout OUT!
I know this is very ex-post facto, but I'm thinking that a lot of the 'some nice touches', 'clever footballer', 'needs it played to feet' type views that we pretty much all had (myself included) for the first few weeks/months of his time with us was, in hindsight, probably down to the fact that we hadn't had a player who could lay off a ball or find a teammate since (what felt like) Steven Defour left us. We were desperate to see any kind of talent because we were so thirsty for it, so we clung on to anything that was even a single degree closer to 'football' than what we'd watched for a few years by that point.

Re: Wout OUT!
First impressions and comments of Wout were....I hope he's not another Tony Hancock. And so it came to pass. He is slightly better than TH. and in blind faith I backed him to score at Brighton ££££ But his temperament is suspect tbh.

Re: Wout OUT!
Good player but not quick enough for the PL.
Re: Wout OUT!
Never rated him but the thing I’ve never understood is that for a tall lad he wins bugger all in the penalty box with his head. Let’s be honest he was a panic buy after we lost Chris Wood, Just hope we can offload him but I guess we’ll lose money.
Re: Wout OUT!
I have no idea what he is like as a colleague and I know he ruffled a few feathers. However, it maybe cultural, rather than personal. He is Dutch and they can be like that. Seeing something he thinks can help a colleague, he will tell them. The manner will be direct, rather than tactful. That matmy just be it.
Re: Wout OUT!
He's so fantastic that there are loads of PL clubs fighting for his signature. He won't be in the PL or any of the top clubs in any major league and there is a reason for that. We paid £12.5m for a striker, a position that normally commands the biggest fees, and as another poster said we will probably lose money, which says it all. If his ability matched his arrogance, he would indeed be a top player.

He will play for a bigger club than ours I would think. Playing so many games for United can only add to his success at the world cup.gtclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 7:47 amHe's so fantastic that there are loads of PL clubs fighting for his signature.
