No, I think you heard it right. The way I heard it was there’s a player (presumably Bastien) in the 25 who might yet move and if he does then a player who has been left out of the 25 has to take the spot in the 25. You can only look at bringing free agents into the 25 if you don’t have any ‘first team’ squad members to bring in.

I think he was saying that Churlinov couldn’t take the place of anyone leaving for Turkey, hence his argument that we shouldn’t have to submit 25 man squads until all the transfer deadlines were closed.

As I understood it he was saying that if a player left who was in the squad (Bastien), we could make up the squad but only with existing players (Churlinov). If we had no remaining players we could add free agents. I think
