Like I said before, put O'Shea in a system where he's well protected and he'd be perfectly adequate. Kevin Long looked fine for large parts in the PL and O'Shea is clearly better than him.

Ramsey had a great record for Boro last season, I think it was a goal every 2 games from out wide, and I wasn't all that taken with Zaroury after the WC break and I wasn't surprised we looked to upgrade him.

The things that did surprise me were awarding him a new 5 year deal, signing 6 of the same winger, and seeing the team attempt to play in the way it has done so far. If the goal is to make these kids learn fast, we need to be careful not to break them in the process. O'Shea is looking very low on confidence already.
Haven't seen anything to suggest O'Shea is any better than r'Kev.

Very different roles with Anass & Ramsey.

Zaroury was very much a hug the touchline winger, Ramsey coming inside a lot more with Ryan Giles outside of him

People talk alot about not hitting the same form post WC but there's still a number of games where he was clocking in top performances and running the show...

Not to mention he's still only 22 - plenty of room to develop more. As you say some peculiar signings on the wide spots after penning Zaroury & Benson to new deals

I think we should be getting a crime number for Ramsey, Unai has conned us big time.
Would it kill some of you to have some patience?

I see his very good performance against United has already been erased from memory.

TBF to him i missed that game but the only thing i have seen him do is fall over and give the ball away in two different games which lead to a goal.

VK is certainly not a fan of easing people in gently ill give him that :o

He’s made errors but he’s a young player coming into a team playing a very defined style, not helped by constantly changing personnel against top level opposition. He was excellent against United, used the ball really well. Not sure comments battering him as useless are particularly helpful - same goes for starting a thread to dig out O’Shea.

VK has been robbed blind this season after the bargains of last

Oshea £9m

Ramsey £12m OMFG

Trafford £19m

No wonder Alan looked angry at the end of chelsea on saturday.
Nowt like giving a player a chance eh? Ramsey has started two games FFS and was the best player on the pitch against Man United.

Is it a coincidence when posters are criticising a player that they inflate the transfer fee above the facts ?
Noticed that in the last few days with Delcroix, O’Shea and Trafford.
People did it last season with Foster too - rarely did anyone quote the £7m we actually paid…..but now he’s playing great they are !!

This is what I don't understand, in the documentary VK constantly says it takes 120 sessions to get to where he needs them and it showed last season so why not start this season with the players that understand the system and roles and drip feed the new players in, maybe they'd pick it up quicker sat on the bench watching it work.
It's like we are writing off a third of the season which we can't do in this league

It suits an agenda much better to inflate fees, especially when writing a player after a couple of games.

They used to do it with the Gibson signing, quoting the full fee after add-ons of £15 million, instead of the much lower price which was around the same as we got from Norwich, £8 million

It’s very odd
