Could’ve been his farewell cameo today.
Hopefully.

Did OK today in a brief cameo, and I do think there is a very good player in there who was hampered by the surprise breakthrough of both Koleosho and Odobert, I actually think he would have more assists than both combined if he had played, but clearly if we drop, avoiding paying about £15m is better than having paid it and needing to do a fire sale. On that basis it is good news if he has chosen not to sign because it is equivalent to us getting our money back on him, which eases financial pressure elsewhere.

Tresor will not be signing - he needed to make 15 appearances to have the option to buy triggered - in addition he had a clause which allowed him to make the decision to sign or not subject to 1 or 2 details . neither is happening he will leave in summer
If this is true then it is a tragedy. A season in the Championship is a long slog and we need players with heart, commitment and passion if we are going to be successful; all qualities that we all know Tresor has in abundance.

Found his introduction bizarre.

He's not been deemed to warrant any game time since Luton at home, and no significant game time this year. Benson has had a couple of cameos recently and showed a threat against Wolves. He's also got the sort of whippy, dipping shot that's well suited to slippery, windy conditions like yesterday where by the end it was a question of buying a ticket and seeing if you win the raffle. The obvious change was Benson for JBL, stick Odobert on the left and just go for it. Even Amdouni would've made more sense than Tresor given he's played more football.

Not sure this chopping and changing over who gets 10 minutes here and there is fair on anyone. They aren't getting a proper run.

I think a book could be written on bizarre substitutions to be honest this season

The majority I can fathom. That one I found really odd.

Was expecting Trippier-esque crossing, but all he seems to do is undercook it or completely roast it

The only team he will walk into is one full of worst signings ever eg Tony Hancock,Mark Kendall and the rest. What ever VK saw in him and why he was preferred to potential match winner Benny I would like to know as Tressor was poor again.

I thought he did more yesterday than he's done in his entire Burnley career. Admittedly that's the lowest of very low bars.

As soon as he came on it looked like he had been set up to fail by management.
The weather conditions were awful again and no sub in the world would have wanted to come on.
It was lashing down with high winds.

He hasn't trusted him to play since sending him on for 10 minutes in freezing conditions against Luton.

Can only think of Chelsea away where the subs have had a meaningful impact on the game. The ones yesterday once again poor.

Hes been badly managed this season but the main thing that stands out is that the last few summer seasons signings weren’t needed and looking at our debts we shouldn’t have bought them either.
It’s not Tresor’s fault that we didn’t make signings to strengthen based on positions needed rather than possible future profit

Fulham at home I guess, but the question there would surely be that Fofana should have started that game.

The perm deal quoted to be around 15m, even if we paid a loan fee of say 2m or 3m based on his usage and performance, does he go back to genk and have clubs chucking 15m to sign him. It makes no sense for them to section any loan deal without the guarantee of the perm deal
I was going to say something similar, but you beat me to it.

If it’s not a permanent deal, then what on earth have Genk got out of it?

If he does return, Tresor is a year older, diminished in value, will need reintegrating back into their squad, and now completely shot of confidence.

Makes no sense, unless we’ve given Genk a ridiculous loan fee for the season, and perhaps even some form of financial penalty for not making it permanent.
