Denmark breaking European Championship record after record , what a story !
The recent International record of Denmark almost matches that of Italy were it not for 3 defeats - all against Belgium. I am pretty certain that the unbeaten run of Italy doesn't include 3 matches against Belgium!

why are these var decisions taking so long?

they should stop the clock if it's going to take an age.

Surely if a player doesn't touch the ball then he can't be offside?

Because the match and VAR is being run by Premier League officials who seem to be the only ones in the world making such a mess of it!

It’s ridiculous. Both VAR decisions have been very easy to call and shouldn’t have taken any time at all. No surprise that it’s the English officials struggling to make the decisions in a timely manner when the rest of the tournament has been run fairly seamlessly.

But can't players take up an offside position from set pieces without being penalised?

Attwell is taking an age with VAR tonight compared to other games. At least he got them right though.

Taylor has done well again.

Must admit Attwell does seem to have taken quite some time with the VAR this evening.
I do think hes one of the best refs in the prem generally though ,pretty understated and tries to let the game flow generally.

Austria’s work off the ball has been brilliant. They’ve shown a great intensity. Despite the lack of quality I’ve enjoyed the game purely for what’s a stake.

All of the talk surrounding Italy's unbeaten 30 odd game run but they are looking distinctly average against an Austrian team that became the rank outsiders for the Euros when the last 16 teams were decided.

As quite a few have mentioned. Italy not been great, but it still looks like they've won this.
And if you're not playing great, but still winning......

Ominous.

All 3 gaols scored by subs, shows how important your bench can be in these matches.

Belgium or Portugal up next for Italy, that will really be the acid test for them. But they are definitely a contender for this trophy.

How have they been allowed that many spectators in the ground ? Don't know the

All the games in Budapest have played to capacity crowds, whether that's wise or not I don't know, but it hasn't half made for a tremendous atmosphere compared to some of the other venues.

0-0 at the break, Dutch started strongly, but the Czechs have enjoyed the better of the last 20 minutes.

For those wondering yes Vydra is yet again on the bench, and I have my doubts over whether he'll get on or not.

Maybe they're saving him for the latter rounds. ;)
