That is a bit odd I must say, if you don’t plan to start for a number of years. Make sure you keep your eye on the expiry date.
I haven’t heard anyone from the club say they have plans to develop the ground but happy to take your word for that. But unless they know exactly how they plan to develop it and the budget they have available then having designs drawn up would be a waste of time and money. If we got relegated this season for example, do you think our development plans would be the same? Will our budget now be the same as pre-COVID even?
Anyway, this thread is about transfers (like that was ever going to happen) so happy to leave it at that so it can get back on topic!
Depends on your perspective, I suppose. I wanted to be organised as you have to be ready to do these things at certain times of year & I wanted to know I could do it before I bothered saving up. I know there’s plenty who get it with no intention of ever doing it themselves, but to demonstrate it’s possible to future buyers.
Just to provide a link on the topic, I think he discusses in this interview:

Will end by summarising that I think the club should have a 10 year vision for all its key infrastructure. Of course the delivery is dependent on changing priorities/circumstances and adapted to budgets accordingly. Equally we might sell a player and have cash to accelerate all or part of the vision.
Only 5 weeks to go & we might have some transfer activity to discuss & provide links on.
