Agree with that. Being seriously quick can take any half way decent player as far as the Championship, but that's not enough in the Premiership because almost everyone is seriously quick.there.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 5:55 pmI think a lot of footballers get through the lower levels of football due to their physical attributes
Then they get to a level where players can compete with that and it becomes obvious that there not very good footballers or not at the level their physicality got them to

Didn't we try to get him last season as well? I'm guessing this is a club target if so not a manager target123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:25 pmhttps://x.com/richcawleyslp/status/1829 ... rNr6Z5x6nA

We can’t keep offering loans with obligations, not every club wants to take loans out on future payments
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I expect we are playing big time Charlie tricks with these loan offers, everyone knows we've got money now. Theyll want it up front

Working the way down the list means that Whittaker has been crossed off.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Zian Flemming is a good player in a terrible side
I'd take him
Also Maxwell Cornet reported - i'd take him too

Or that they're focusing on multiple targets, some of which won't be public/rumoured - especially at this stage of the window not going to put all their eggs in one basket and will have lots of agents coming to them with players that are available as well as the ones they have identified

Around 100 million brought in by player sales.
And now Pace is trying to replace with loan deals.

Do you not think Whittaker is because the club think they are losing Vitinho and benson. I think Whittaker could actually play as a 9.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:35 pmI do think they are being signed for the same position.

They are loans with obligations. It means we are committed to the full amount, just structured slightly different. Just like with Tresor and Esteve. Surely this concept isn’t new to people by now?forzagranata wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:36 pmAround 100 million brought in by player sales.

Fleming and Whittaker would help.
Get that fancy Brazilian in too and things will be looking up.

I’m beginning to really dislike Sacha. He is clearly spreading sh*y at the behest of agents to try and push through a deal. No doubt he’s getting a commission for posting them too. With these new signings he’s going to be out of the loop so this is his last big pay day for BFC

If we wanted to be positive about the owners, maybe it’s because they don’t want to over pay for anyone thinking we have loads of money after the sales.forzagranata wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:36 pmAround 100 million brought in by player sales.

Whittaker is a 10 but Plymouth have been playing him on the right.

No, I think Koleosho on the right with Anthony/Sarmiento on the left.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:38 pmDo you not think Whittaker is because the club think they are losing Vitinho and benson. I think Whittaker could actually play as a 9.

Parker is definitely looking for a number 10. Whittaker has played that role a fair bit in his career.

I actually think the Flemming deal has some legs in it.
Millwall are currently in the process of breaking there transfer record for Ivanovic.
If we offer the right amount I think we could secure his services

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Exactly. A big loan fee means they get a large sum in 1st year, probably more than a normal transfer
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Any chance we are putting loan with obligation bids in to register interest, make the player and agent aware of interest and then make a cash offer when Vitinho goes through or is that wishful thinking?

I suspect the FFP implications of these loan to buy deals are complicated and potentially work as much for sellers as buyers. I don't think it's as simple as just pushing the purchase onto the following years accounts because of the way transfer fees are amortised. But I'm no accountant.
Zian Flemming and Whittaker are very different players, but what I will say is that Flemming reminds me a lot of Billing in terms of how he operates as a 10. He is good with his back to goal and that may be something that makes sense in bringing the best out of Foster - assuming he remains with us.

I didn’t fully understand it when listening to a podcast on this very topic, but my basic understanding is that it does exactly that. It pushes the amortisation into the next financial year rather than this one.claretspice wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:58 pmI suspect the FFP implications of these loan to buy deals are complicated and potentially work as much for sellers as buyers. Got to be time to take a calculated risk now. Get Whitaker and Flemming in for the cost of selling Odobert.
If we're adrift in January, Luca is there to balance it out if needed.
These loan to buy deals are just insulting clubs and making us look ridiculous.
