There must be a lot of US and other satellites over Ukraine that know exactly what's going on there minute by minute

It's weird, for sure, but it's being reported that he misspoke. Hope he did and the western roads are still open because a siege would be horrific.

I think it will be a long time when there next ISN'T a missile or bombing attack on Kyiv during the night.
Saddened to know we'll be likely waking up to fighting in the streets of cities as Russia will use the cover of night to move in.

FIFA and Russia
Espn reports:
FIFA backed away from immediately expelling Russia from World Cup qualifying on Sunday but said it remained an option, deciding instead the squad can play using the "RFU" acronym of its football federation, the Russian Football Union.
The unanimous ruling by the Bureau of the FIFA Council, which includes the six regional football confederation presidents, was also that the Russian flag and anthem can't be associated with the team.
"FIFA will continue its ongoing dialogue with the IOC, UEFA and other sport organizations to determine any additional measures or sanctions," FIFA said in a statement, "including a potential exclusion from competitions, that shall be applied in the near future should the situation not be improving rapidly.''
The decision adopts the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, punishing Russia's cover-up of the investigation into state-sponsored doping. Under that ruling, the Russians had to compete at the past two Olympics as the Russian Olympic Committee team. FIFA had stalled implementing the ban on Russia competing under its name until a potential qualification for the World Cup.
FIFA also said the RFU team can only play on neutral territory and without spectators.
It was not immediately clear whether the decision to use the RFU acronym would satisfy Poland, which said Saturday that it would refuse to play Russia in a World Cup qualification playoff semifinal, which is scheduled for Moscow on March 24.

So Russia can play on as normal but under a new name as long as it’s behind closed doors. FIFA are a truly disgusting organisation and are now hiding behind the IOC.

They’ll ultimately be shamed into it as, one by one, the members refuse to play “ pretend Russia “ , and there won’t be anywhere they can play or even reach by air. They’ll then try and claim some moral high ground.. what a disgrace they are. It’s time for the big boys to break away..

Re: Russia Invades
Russia's military is a shambles when compared to world superpowers, precisely because it is not a world superpower. Russia sailed its only aircraft carrier through the English channel a few years ago. It was the first time it had ever sailed without an oceangoing tugboat. It was literally belching black smoke as it passed. Russia's military has a problem with its reliance on outdated equipment, making it prone to breakdown and failure. Now, with respect of Russia's navy, one might argue that the embarrassments the Russian navy is prone to experiencing are a consequence of its budgetary priorities given Russia places greater strategic importance in its land army, which is true, but they certainly over-promise when it comes to conventional military. But the fact remains, they are nuclear equipped. This is the single biggest nightmare for everyone. It doesn't matter how weak their military is if they are willing to go nuclear.

The Russians have a strong navy, and a strong air force, and a strong army, but its completely outmatched by NATO in all areas
That is probably why they fear it, because if it was the other way around, they would use it to make sure they get what they want

Co-founder of Alfa-Bank, one of Russia's largest private banks, is the first oligarch to condemn the Ukraine invasion in a message to staff. Mikhail Fridman, one of Russia’s richest men, has become the first oligarch to speak out against Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in a major turning point in public reaction to the war

Re: Russia Invades
I mean, he's going to get screwed but you can't help but admire Ukrainians !
"The Ukrainian mechanic of a yacht owned by a Russian tycoon (who made his fortune supplying the Russian military) sabotaged and sank the yacht.
Story from link below:
The Civil Guard has arrested a Ukrainian sailor in Mallorca for causing significant damage to the luxury yacht of Alexander Mijeev , a Russian tycoon who runs the company Rosoboronexport, which manufactures helicopters for the Russian Army. The Lady Anastasia was moored in Port Adriano, a marina on the Calvià coast, and has partially sunk.
The newspapers report in their digital edition that the Civil Guard arrested the sailor at noon this Saturday for the damage caused to a yacht belonging to the senior manager of a corporation that manufactures military equipment.
The detainee has stated that Mijeev is related to the manufacture of explosives and decided to take revenge on him, causing damage to the yacht when he saw the image of a missile hitting a block of flats in Kiev . "The owner of this ship is a criminal who makes a living selling weapons and now kills Ukrainians," he said, according to the UH newspaper.

If we’re mentioning Korea you have to mention Bay of Pigs, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam… where the West was extremely economic with the truth… Britain was privately the biggest critic throughout Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, for the utter manipulation of facts in SE Asia. The West has its part to play in the reluctance of decent people of the East trusting the Western News… why these UN proposals, doomed as they are, must continue. As members of the UN they cannot deny world feeling.
