3 at the back with two full backs, two wingers and two holding midfielders unsurprisingly gives sod all support to Kane and not much through the middle from an attacking perspective.

To be fair though, we’ve looked half decent so far.

After a slow start its been a good first half with us the better team. Germany look good on the break and you can see why Southgate has set us up the way he has.

I feel more tense and nervous about this game than any Burnley match over the last few years. Gonna be a twitchy second half and could go either way

deluded, England have been the far better side here, the system and selection is working well. You keep banging that anti Southgate drum though because he managed Boro 14 years ago

This isn't football manager, Phillips and Trippier have been anything but just defensive players in this game. The system and selection has worked so far. Btw Germany are also playing the same formation...
