agree with Rick, we need to go 4-5-1, they are getting far too many crosses in to the box

I think we're okay. Palace haven't actually threatened much. But we do need to create a little more - don't want us riding our luck too much. I'd be okay (more comfortable in fact) with 4-5-1 second half.

They are more physical than I imagined they would be - more Sam the De Boer I thin

Brilliant work from Gudmundsson there. Really good effort to avoid the challenge and get a dangerous cross in.

It was mentioned last week that both sides win more matches with less of the ball.
It looks like we are letting them have it but it's working.

If we go to 4-5-1 who goes off though. Wood or Vokes.

Just noticed that they have turned us round - so we play uphill in the 2nd half - suspect that might be Sammy Lee using a Sam tactic

HT. Phew. They haven't been too threatening aside from a 10-15 min period first half. Keepers not had too much to do. But, we're riding out luck a little and could change things up to take a little more control.

Very bad news for Tom. Pope has done well since coming on.

I think criticism of Tarks has been a little harsh. He has handled a couple of the situations with Benteke superbly.

Disappointed that CP haven't rolled over and died yet. Haven't they read the script? They've had a lot of the possession and look the more dangerous even without creating many clear-cut chances.

Hate to say it, but really relying on Ben in the middle to command things as Tarks and Pope are very inexperienced at this level.

Going to be a nervy 2nd 45.

From BBC:

Burnley have only lost one of the previous 20 Premier League games in which they've led at HT - But it was a 3-2 defeat to Palace in January 2015.

Crying out to go back to 4-5-1. Arfield on for Vokes as Wood looks really dangerous. They will have to come out even more in the 2nd Half and could catch them on the break. JBG having a good game, Defour different level.

Both sides look suspect defensively - us probably more so. Feel a change of formation is necessary, and hope Heaton's injury isn't too bad :( Bonus is we're winning! :D Need a big half from the players AND the fans, it's oh so quiet in the stands. If we're to continue making Turf Moor a fortress the players really need the vocal backing..

Our back 4 need to learn from Fergies golden rule. The back 4 NEVER try to beat a man. Pass it or clog it. It does help if teammates are getting into space for you!

JBG much better suited to 4-4-2 but Defour and to a lesser extent Brady are both wasted in this formation

Cork holding the midfield together and either need to find a way to get back on the front foot or get more bodies into midfield to try and get hold of the ball and control the game better

I reckon they'll be one more goal and it's 50/50 which way it will go despite Palace being well on top for last 15 mins of that half

One thing that worries me is that we've barely tested their keeper first half. Our only shot on target was the goal. While it's great to be clinical, it's not impressive to go almost a whole half without getting a shot on target. Must test him more!

I think the timing of how long Dyche waits to back to 4-5-1 will be key, here.

They're getting far too much time and space there.

we must change to 4-5-1, vokes off for me and probably Arfield on. We have no grip on a home game against a team that have struggled big time this season. We've played some cracking football this season in a 4-5-1

We've looked a bit bitty several times at the back, though they've all come up with a few great individual moments.
We're losing, mostly, the midfield battle.
Putting us under too much pressure at the back.
