Maguire was outstanding for England at the Euros. Been off form since though, but then again so have most of the United side.

Not quite sure why I'm bothering to explain, however you compared the two records of Burnley and Newcastle directly.
this topic is about Newcastle v Man United, nothing to do with Burnley

United have been dreadful yet should still very easily have three in the second half.

You are joking aren’t you?

Man Utd have been shocking yet they’ve still had more shots and over 75% possession. Not sure you can describe that as against the run of play

ASM pulled up, looks like calf or hamstring injury, with that and Wilson off injured it is good news.

Not that want players to be seriously injured, but Newcastle losing Wilson & ASM for a few games isn’t a bad outcome for us

Happens all the time. People take expectation into account. If you didn't know the league position you wouldn't say Newcastle have been any better

Must be the gruelling schedule they’ve had over the past two weeks.

Good game.

The way I look at it is that this was Newcastle at their absolute motivated best and unable to beat a United who don’t really seem to know what they’re doing at the moment.

Good news for rest of the dogfight, starting on Thursday.

You have to love the refs.
Six mins injury time.
Newcastle player runs away with the ball for a United throw.
Ref then stops the game and United from taking the throw in while he books him.
Then blows the full time whistle dead on 96 mins.

Grinds my gears too.

Should use basket ball timer clock that stops for bookings, injury etc.

Not a bad outcome for us in the end, and we have a crazy 4 games in hand on Newcastle now, of course they only matter if we can pick up a good haul of points from them.

A few injuries for Newcastle tonight as well, and key injuries at that especially ASM and Wilson.

19 points Toon have dropped from winning positions this season, which works out neatly at 1 per game, that's got to be a concern for them going forwards.

Depends who they bring in tho. Could be a blessing for them, especially if it's only a month or so out. Got quite a nice run until March

No chance, it’s Norwich & Watford & us & our saving grace might be Brentford who are slowly dropping & will drop further.
