YES YES YES YES.., he’s actually gone. Happy days.

Despite my sheer delight the timing is questionable. Are they hoping that we will get the new manager bounce? Too late for someone to come in surely and steer us clear?

I am surprised Pace has done it (and the timing is strange) but I think it’s for the best.

This makes me think Pace knows what he’s doing.
It tells me exactly the opposite

This makes perfect sense to me. We are relegated, everybody knows that. The new manager can get in now, assess the squad and hit the ground running over the summer

I dread to think what it has cost to get rid of Dyche
Plus Woan, Stone and Mercer.

Absolute madness to sack him now. Some of the decisions the owners have made are baffling. I really do fear for our club now.

This is dreadful news after all he has done for us. It is akin to the sale of Jimmy McIlroy in 1963. Even if we stay up it will be an
achievement which will be tainted.
Comparing it to Mcllroy is the biggest Over reaction ever

There is no need to bring the religion of the owners into the conversation imho.

Not sure how I feel about the news - clearly odd timing and a lot will now ride on the replacement.

Dyche and his team have been a credit to the club and over the years have given many clarets the best experiences of promotions and a short trip in to Europe but the nature of this game is that it's rare you get managers who can sustain their performance at a club for the length of time they have.

I feel that having done that against a backdrop of little to no money in the context of the teams we have competed against over the last several years, it just puts this achievement into perspective.

Will need time to process but it has been clear something would need to change soon given. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

Emotion based upon nostalgia.

Let's be honest for a moment. In the big games we simply have repeatedly not shown up.
Norwich - home & away
Newcastle - away.
Watford - home
Brentford - away...

Not a single performance, not one....
Sorry to hear you missed the Everton game

I think once people have got over the shock, this will prove to be the correct decision.

Gives a new management team time to look at the squad before the end of the season.

Not sure if it's panic.
We lost to Norwich ....we had to win that game.

Maybe the clear out now is in preparation for a big summer of change and they felt he wasn't the man to move the club forward 🤔

I don't agree with it, but thinking about it I can understand it.
Depends who we get in to replace him, if it's a younger more attack minded manager who might be able to promote youth and flair then I can see the logic, but if we appoint someone like BFS then I fail to see where their strategy is heading.

I don't disagree Norwich was a key game, but that still begs the question why take 5 days after that loss to finally announce the news, unless they were discussing the terms of Sean's dismissal.

Dyche gone today.

Root gone today.

Now all we need is for Boris to finally go.

Very strange timing, can’t help but feel after Sunday’s defeat they’ve gone out and found someone to replace him, it’s taken time to get that sorted out before sacking SD, as why wouldn’t they announce it Monday morning after the Norwich defeat.

Ben Mee & others to take charge for Sunday game, what do we think they’ll be an appointment next week.

Suggestions he’d lost the dressing room particularly the senior players.
You mean all the ones he's bought, put his trust in, and essentially rebuilt as premier league players?

Thankyou for everything Dyche, but I genuinely believe it was the right time for a fresh approach. We still have a small chance of survival and our Premier League status might just tempt someone decent into the role. If we press the panic button and take someone like Allardyce it will be an absolute disaster.

Dyche does not align with what pace wants ( fast paced attractive football with young players) completely the right decision has been made, awful football with no results made the sacking quite inevitable

As I said the other day, many payouts are spread out over the duration of the original contract and include clauses that stop payments when the manager gets a new job.

Had a bad feeling the second they came in and loaded debt on, and said it that very evening.

That feeling got worse as we heard the bloke speak, as he babbled about inane side projects and made Trump-esque statements about our financial position (“It’s a beautiful loan” comes to mind). We then see every good, experienced member of the clubs off field activities removed one by one for no reason. Then this? At a time like THIS?

We were down, we all knew that - and it has been crap for 18 months. Dyche is partially responsible but there are so many factors that have caused it which make it very shameful to pin it on him and so brazenly state SACKED after what this man has done for our club. He should have a ******* stand named after him, and we do this?

I don’t care if Sir Alex comes out of retirement - we’re doomed, in more ways than one. The sinking feeling of relegation was fine as far as I was concerned as long as Dyche stuck about, but now the unknown just became all the more scary.

I don’t want to be rude, but I hope Alan Pace gets the **** out of the club as soon as I’d possible. He’s ruined everything SEAN DYCHE built and it only took him 18 months. Why can’t these American owners (at all clubs) stop arrogantly thinking they understand our sport, culture and heritage and stop wantonly coming in to clubs over here and wreaking havoc? This is not supposed to sound xenophobic, I love America and it’s people (literally typing this from our hotel room at 6:15am in Florida) but the damage done to us and other clubs is unfathomable. It shouldn’t be allowed.

Totally ridiculous decision whichever way you look at it. Thanks Sean for an amazing 9+ years. Years that I never thought I’d see as a 52 year old man. Best manager by a mile to manage the club since Harry Potts. Given the discrepancy in club finances against the big city clubs I would suggest the best manager we have ever had.

Thanks Alan

Something must have happened, maybe the players have gone to ALK to oust Dyche or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure the squad would've been asked for an opinion prior to any decision.

Have to say totally shocked. But and a massive but, why not?

I didnt want him next year regardless what division we were in, his presser in the week saying we are no worse off than before the everton game shows how much he has lost his marbles, we are 2 games worse off you idiot.

His constant picking if westwood and inability to find a system to fit in cornet mcneil and wout has been his downfall. Pace recognises there are other systems than 4-4-2 and that Dycheball is stale

Now lets get behind whoever it is in charge on Sunday and who knows...we may now have a chance with a different plan

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)

Thanks for all the good times Sean, Ian and all the staff who are leaving today.
A shame that we didn't get the wins needed as in the past 9 seasons but sadly that's football.
Good luck to all of you in the future.
And Alan Pace, I hope you know what you're doing, because I've seen no evidence of it yet apart from window dressing.

Allardyce has been the master at the new manager bounce, which is exactly what we need short term. Long term, no way.
Possibly! but if we were going to push the panic button and get BFS in surely the time to do that was after Christmas, not with only 8 games remaining.

Something must have happened, maybe the players have gone to ALK to oust Dyche or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure the squad would've been asked for an opinion prior to any decision.
It would be very unusual for a squad to be consulted on such matters.

Not sure just how they'll find a better gk coach than Billy Mercer!
Mercer could have stayed for me
