Is that a new ride, or a re-branded one?
And yes we seem to be playing well and the boys are up for it.
Yeah new Jurassic Park launch coaster, opened last year.
Great to hear, it was only ever going to go one way or the other today - so glad it sounds they’re up for it.

Nowhere near the ball
Thats the debatable bit. It looked to me he attempted to get the ball and Cornet was too quick so right decision from ref but Id certainly take another look later as not 100%

Weghorst or Jay, both can strike a good shot, why Max tried to be clever beats me, just leather it in.
Hope we don't regret that at full time.
we've been really good so far too.

First half performance begs the question as to why we didn't pot Dyche months ago.

Nice Easter reference.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a professional footballer to get a free shot between the posts. If the keeper saves - so be it. But to go for a stuttered run-up, and then miss…

Really? Anyone can miss a penalty under pressure. No one will be more upset about it than him.
He's a luxury player... missed two golden opportunities in the last two games.

Cornet off target in two huge moments across this and the previous game. He’s got to be scoring both of those.
That and the injury aside, they’ve done pretty well. A big 45 minutes ahead.

The stuttered run up did its job because the keeper was over at the right hand side of the goal but Cornet literally missed an open goal.

Weghorst shoulda took it, scored a goal already
Weghorst's career penalty record isn't great.
You'd think Jay, but I guess the logic is Cornet won it, Cornet takes it, even though to my knowledge he'd never taken any in his career previously. Could be a very costly miss that.

Yes sounds like it, however we've played well for halves this season already, and not completed the job, vital we see this out, 3 points today and the table looks markedly different, not to mention the huge confidence boost heading into the Southampton game.

Good first half but disappointing we didnt get that second. In Cornet's defence his touch and run was brilliant to win the penalty in the first place and doubt any other player would have done the same (maybe Dwight)
Also credit to Pope as his save kept us in it and for me is one of his best

Be very (pleasantly) surprised if that doesn't come back to haunt us. You just cannot fail to hit the target from a pen in our situation. They look jaded but will definitely have a good spell second half.

Double jeopardy rule
And an absolutely idiotic rule too.
It makes absolutely no sense that the punishment to the fouling player is less, just because you are closer to goal. The closer you are, the higher the goalscoring opportunity, and hence unless you are on a yellow already, you have pretty much nothing to lose by fouling the player. You just have to make it look like you are going for the ball. End result: penalty and yellow card. You aren't really worse off than before.

Much better perfomance than recent months, at least we are trying to keep it on the deck and we are getting more players forward. Had we scored the penalty I would have been quietly confident but now it is still 8n the balance.

Cornet should be given some slack, he won the penalty brilliantly and earned the right to take the penalty, it just didn't work out

Strange game. Cornet did brilliantly to win the pen then a shocking miss. Keeper made no attempt to play the ball. He was expecting a red !!! Some posters need banning for life after their comments re Ashley Westwood.

Cornwt never looked confident waiting to take it. Also think a confident striker would have taken the show earlier 1-on-1 rather than playing for the pen.

Must admit I felt a lot more comfortable when Jay had the ball for the penalty rather than Cornet.
For me Cornet is someone who plays best off instinct, when he has more time to think he tends to falter, as evidenced by the amount of 1 v 1s he's missed prior to today's pen.

I'd agree.
Interesting reading of the psychology of this game. Some people think we look more relaxed and confident because of playing well. Alternatively, Cornet's nerves could suggest we look more uneasy than ever.
We've played well in halves, or even a couple of games, this season. Impossible to judge off of 45 minutes beyond to say- keep this up please.

Yeah, who plays for a pen in that position? I dont think he did T all. Cornet did brilliantly, and was plain and simply fouled before he could tap in. He did everything right until he stuttered his run up.

He had no impact on the outcome. If the keeper parried it and Johnson cleared it away, then it would've been retaken

So did half the Burnley players to be fair, Jay was about 3 yards inside, Cornet's stutter put them out of sync with their runs.
