Depends on who comes in.

Pope or Hennessy
Roberts Colins Long Taylor
McNeil Brownhill Cork JBG
JRod Barnes

and that’s without any new players
The basis of a really good Championship side. And there will be several good players coming in. I feel optimistic.

We certainly have no idea who is staying when Collins has a release clause in his contract, for example.

Likewise every player Is available if another team make a suitable offer.

Pretty sure we will have offered Mee a new deal but it will have been a huge pay cut with massive promotion bonuses and wage increase. Why would he take that when he can have the bigger wage guaranteed? Especially at his age. He's also clearly been angling towards building his profile off the pitch, whether that's towards a future media career or for management, which will also be a consideration given there's less coverage in the Championship. There won't be more to it than that.

Has the Collins release clause ever been verified?
I thought that was just hearsay from an attention seeker?

I'm rather surprised about Gomez-Mancini not being kept on as I understood he's highly rated and Championship football might have allowed him to break through, but then again it might be more down to him getting better offers elsewhere.

He had a pretty disappointing season in my opinion. He was injured for a large chunk and in that Wood and Helm really made it there own. Surprised but can understand it. Especially given isn’t he our record transfer for the academy?

I love Ben as a player and for his loyalty. However I am sure that at the start of last season he would have had ample opportunity to sign a new deal with the owners. As we got to Christmas I can remember SD saying that players now coming OOC were having to justify their case for a new contract to the owners so maybe any offer was withdrawn. Ben has been a master at stalling contracts to such a point Gibson was brought in as insurance the last time his contract was ending. He used to mock the fact on social media that he would not be signing a new contract, strongly suggesting he was going nowhere

Ben has also been maybe the highest earner so I cannot feel too sorry for him. I also remember the club showing empathy and flexibility following the birth of his daughter. In summary -one of our greatest defenders and servants but time to move on, and I for one will be seeing with interest who his new club will be

I agree. He's not really pushed on

The release clause came from Jason O'Connor, he's probably the most reliable "source" when it comes to Irish players.
