Anyone who has the balls to try and live up to what Dyche has done for the club gets my vote. It will be a hard act to follow that's for sure. We will be behind you all the way Vinny.

Doesn’t really make sense tho does it, he’s not a Burnley fan so would you do that?
Will never know the full rationale of why he chose us outside what he has said.

It’s not a surprise to me though that he has come here over other clubs. My guess for his choices from what I have read/seen/heard…..

He has established links to the north west. His family will have good support and he will have lots of contacts and friends in the area too. His wife has been separated from her family due to covid for a significant period of time.

Overall the opportunity to build something and bring younger players into the club to develop them.

He has interest in data and analytics and this aligns to the owners desire to build a playing squad through a data led approach would be appealing.

He is developing as a manager and I can see why a club with a good history of fans supporting and giving time to managers will be better for him at this stage.

It’s therefore not that hard to understand why we were a good fit for him when considering all these things in the round.

Interesting comments on the Sky sports article about how we missed out on staying up due to “fine margins”. 🤔🤣

Don't worry he'll soon have everyone aligned.

Completely agree. Have no issue at all with his word choice and thought he came across very well. Welcome Vincent and good luck big man!
I suppose it is easy to interpret what he said in a more negative way but, although his English is perfect, it might have been due to the way he does speak English. At least we've got a manager who thinks about what he's saying before saying it. I thought he came over really well.

It would have been more convincing if at the time he said this he was wearing aa Burnley shirt, Burnley scarf and a Burnley woolly hat!
What has happened to the tradition of every new manager at a football club being photographed holding up a Club scarf or shirt to convince everyone of his loyal intentions?
I too, heard nothing wrong in what he said. He was promoting the club by gently pointing out that options were available to him and he chose Burnley.

Connor Roberts seems pretty excited to be working under Kompany and as interested as us all to what transfers he makes.

Best part is at the end:

Asked if he had made up with Weghorst, Roberts said: “No, not yet.” Questioned if he would, he added: “Yeah – if he comes back.”

Not sure Dyche would allow players the freedom to answer questions like that but it's refreshing to see Roberts speak candidly.
