Iran seem a better team now they are trying to attack.
Re: England v Iran
Saka so good this season. Been quality for Arsenal.
Surely we can look to bring subs on now and rest some legs.

From the camera behind the goal it looks like Pickford had it covered, albeit 5 minutes too late

Fair play to Iran that was a quality goal

That Taremi who just scored for them has 93 goals and 48 assists in his last 152 club games, can see why!

crap defending at both ends. Can't knock England today though, they've been decent against what is probably the worst team I've ever seen in a World Cup (from memory), you can only beat what's in front of you and all that.

While I don’t think they are entirely accurate they at least give you a rough estimate.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:45 pmRankings can be utter nonsense as you’ll be aware . There's been far worse sides than Iran at previous World Cups believe me.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:39 pmcrap defending at both ends. England have been impressive though, and it can't hurt all the forwards netting, bar Kane surprisingly.
Disappointing not to keep the clean sheet though admittedly it was a decent goal from Iran.

I wish they’d concentrate on football.
Re: England v Iran
A converted try beats a drop goal. Of course, 0-0 can be a rugby score, and often is for the first few minutes of the game.

Hungary 9-0 South Korea: World Cup 1954
Yugoslavia 9-0 Zaire: World Cup 1974
Sweden 8-0 Cuba: World Cup 1938
Uruguay 8-0 Bolivia: World Cup 1950

There's a few stats that illustrate how dire some of the sides that made World Cups have been compared to Iran.
One more to add.
Uruguay 7 Scotland 0 World Cup 1954.
