Absolutely astonishing.
France remind me of the German teams of old. Just always finding a way to stay in the game.

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
Best game I have ever seen!
On reflection, I genuinely can’t think of anything better than this for entertainment value and a great reminder that Football is the best sport ever!!

Coman has played well but had his penalty saved.

Can’t stand both the Argies or French but you’ve got to be pleased for Messi to finally get his hands on the big one and emulate Maradona.

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
Think some of the pundits are going OTT. Rio Ferdinand “ one day I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren I was there” Get over yourself it’s only a bloody football match.

Sir Geoff Hurst didn’t need 2 penalties to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final.

Exactly....impossible to compare era's, Messi trudging through inches of mud kicking a wet ball made of leather with defenders kicking lumps out of him !
Greatest player ever ?....don't make me laugh. Greatest player of his era, Yes.
Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
West Germany v France 1982 was much better.

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
I'm flicking between ITV and BBC . ITV look and sound like they're celebrating Argentina's victory. BBC seem to mourning France's loss.
Anyway I'm delighted for Messi - The People's Champion and a humble football genius. Just fabulous.

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
None of the pundits were saying what an honour it was to be there at halftime and “best final ever”.
Up until the 80 minutes mark France had barely registered a shot on target.

Wrongo still getting the BBC digs in even during a WC final, admirable commitment to the cause.

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
Very exciting game. Loved it and pleased to see such a marvellous player like Messi win a world cup winners medal. Mbappe fabulous but he has time yet. Gutted for Macron !!!
Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final
What a game of football. Buzzing beyond belief for Messi. Richly deserved. Better side in a thrilling game. Messi, Di Maria, De Paul, Mac Allister, Alvarez and Martinez have had superb tournaments. A blend of all the sorts of grit, graft and glamour you need to win a World Cup.
Lionel Messi. The best to ever do it.
