Come on their player did nowt if we booked for a nudge it would end up 5 aside
Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
That was a dreadful 45mins from Burnley against a poor Boro side

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
Hearts in mouths stuff there...VERY sensible refereeing from Atkinson. STUPID from Ward. On 43 mins Dowie "a rare daliance into the game by Brady." Sums it up. We are dire away from home and as brilliantly effective as we are at home, there is NO attempt to take the game to opponents away. Dowie on 45 "Burnley have been dogged and resilient and defensively sound" and alas that is as good as it gets. Have to watch it as I love Burnley but it is painful.

What could he POSSIBLY have done. He gets NOTHING in the first 25 or 30 minutes of pretty much all the away games then gets a couple pinged into his feet in the following 5. I really feel for him. What is the point in him having pace in this set-up?Vegas Claret wrote:need way more from our front 2, Gray has been a waste of a shirt

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
Im one of the most critical of our style and had we not beat Stoke I would be very disappointed with this first half performance but as we only need the odd point or two to stay up happy to keep it tight play for a point and try to nick a win
Horrible to watch but for this season the means are justifying the ends

We still look scared of trying to play creative football and it's so frustrating when we KNOW we can play the ball on the ground and attack teams.
It's literally like supporting two different teams.

Does that mean that if the foul had been by the Boro player, he would have given us a penalty while the ball was out of play ????

If we do stay up, I hope for crying out loud, we improve our play next season and play better football.
Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
this is just horse s***e viewing, watching my side surrender possession and park the bus is just painful. Zero intent to win, no belief and players drilled into playing a system that is proven to not work. Why are we timewasting before half time? its 0-0!!!!! F**king get the team up the pitch and lets try to win a game of footballl.

KRBFC has been banging the drum about this all season and to be fair he has a point.FactualFrank wrote:If we do stay up, I hope for crying out loud, we improve our play next season and play better football.
It definitely is turgid stuff for most of the time, especially away from home.

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
Will we ever play with 5 in midfield and try and get some possession?
If 4-4-2 worked away from home fine but it never looks like giving us a comfortable ride.
A draw of course would be fine but it's a win we want to take relegation out of the equation.
This is probably our last chance to secure 3 points on the road. To go through a whole season without a victory away from home points to something being wrong with your line-up particularly when our home record is so good.

Atkinson has tacitly accepted you can push somebody in the box a little bit.
The push on Ward was OK but the push by Ward was too much.

Agreed, our strikers have to come deep to get involved in away games, the service is often so poor. They live on scraps in these games.HiroshimaClaret wrote:What could he POSSIBLY have done. Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
dreadful stuff. I'd take Barnes off before he gets sent off. Barnes off Tarks on in midfield and push Hendrick forward in a 4-4-1-1, we are getting over run in midfield and the only time we created anything has been when we've kept it on the floor.

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
4 4 2 has only got us 3 points all season. Any other system, whatever it was, would surely have got more points? Even if we'd suffered the occasional stuffing
In the first couple of times we were in the Prem we were on the wrong end of some sorry results but got way more points than we have this season so far

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
Get those subs on early SD and give the side some ENERGY.
Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
We don't make any attempt to win away which is why we we don't look like winning away and have not won away. I would take a point but playing this negatively just invites pressure and if we let the first goal in is normally game over.

Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
Nope no chance and whilst technically a foul is either a foul or not a foul regardless anyone who's played football at any competitive level appreciates that game changing decisions are treated differently to the other everyday match decisionsFrenchclaret wrote:Does that mean that if the foul had been by the Boro player, he would have given us a penalty while the ball was out of play ????
That said I am one for leaving it to the ref and excepting their errors and concentrating on what we could do better which goes against the grain for most football fans
Re: Middles(very low)brough versus Mighty Clarets
It's no different to home games though. The Stoke thread was exactly the same at half time.

There's more chance of me flying Concorde to the moon blindfolded, than there is of any early subs, unless enforced.ablueclaret wrote:Get those subs on early SD and give the side some ENERGY.

nicking a goal and 3 points is all fine but as usually happens it`s the other team who invariably scores and we lose.
