It's nudge theory. A subtle approach to encourage fat away fans to lose weight.

The thinner seats increate the capacity slightly too. They'll be the same size as the other plastic seats in the rest of the stadium, I'd imagine.

Looks odd if they are going to keep that extra bit of segregation.

So are they looking at adding similar black cladding on the rest of the stands?

They should have done away with the old entrance to the tunnel gangway, could have got some more seats in.

The old tunnel? They got rid of it completely five years ago and put extra seats in.

Are you getting mixed up with the stairs to the old players box?
As CT says there is nothing left of the old tunnel

Is there any chance that someone could provide a couple of pictures from inside the ground showing what the new corner stands now look like?

Am I right in thinking Ladbrokes can no longer have their advertising plastered over the stand? Plus, we’ll have to change the Puma banners too?

I was in there today but didn’t take any. One between Longside & Jimmy Mac doesn’t look far away from being complete but the other is nothing like ready although the glass front is now in place for the new control box on the top floor.
I went in the ticket office for a nosy too and it is very similar to what we used to have but there are more terminals for when it is busy.

Building work didn’t start until well into last season. I think it was around Christmas before we had much steelwork going up.

Not huge sites are they?
The Longside was demolished and rebuilt quicker than this wasn’t it?

They have finished a complete housing estate on Sycamore Avenue whilst they've been
p!ssing about with these compulsory structures.
I hope they are on a penalty contract.

Tim Webber doesn't do penalty contracts he builds what he likes where he likes and when he likes and gets paid what he wants.

The way technology is moving on, having a large ticket office will be a bit pointless probably, with most most purchases being done online.
I’d imagine in 10 years that space will be repurposed anyway.

90% will be online but there is always a queue on matchday.
But even Burnley Cinema have the technology to have you choose your seats on the computers in the Cinema entrance, pay and print your ticket there and then. No staff needed.

Some work still to be done on the Longside corner but will be complete for the opening league game of the season.
No idea when the Bob Lord corner one will be finished though.

The length of time it's taking to put these 2 (TWO) corner stands up is a bit of a joke. The Empire State Building was thrown up in just over 13 months, and that was 90 years ago.

Yes, that area now seems to be away seating. So as said earlier, don't know the purpose of the entrance/exit steps to that area? Unless it gives entry to the stand from the away area underneath?

It certainly does look odd to me as well, it doesn't blend in, in any way, shape or form.
Looks like it's just been plonked there over night.

I don't think the corner stand looks too bad of itself. What really doesn't work is the contrast between the quite modern looking black cladding on the new bit and the cheap and nasty cladding on the main stand. To make the whole thing stand together they need to use a consistent range of finishes.

I agree on the cladding. The cassette cladding on the new corners is more expensive and looks are better than the older cheap cladding. If we’re going for a black and grey look then fine, do the entire ground. Just add colour by a couple of stripes here and there, or new BFC signage.
It’s due a fresh look, but right now the corners don’t fit in.

Am I ok to call it crap looking, cheaply built and terribly overdue now?
I remember getting castrated for being a miserable git when the plans came out.), and it was quite clear what the end result would be.
The best thing to do in these situations when BFC are concerned is, think the worst, think the cheapest, think the oddest and you'll be either right, or every know again slightly surprised , which you can call a bonus.

I’m finding it difficult to care. I spend 20 seconds walking past it on a match day and that’s the only time I’ll see it. Looks fine from inside the ground.

Just spoken to a friend of mine who is going to have to move into the corner stand this season due to an illness. He’s received an invitation today to go and see the new facilities later this month.
