He wasn't the best player on the pitch in the first half. He made one good run and there were two flick ons of note. Let's not over egg the pudding even though we are dying to do so.
Can't wait for your "Beyer isn't that good" post when you are bored

Seemed a lot better in the first half last night but faded in the second. He doesn't seem to have the natural goal scorer instinct for a centre forward though, if we had one we would have won.

Which chances did he have last night, and missed, that a so called natural goalscorer would have buried?

We’ve been winning games all season with Barnes who has a marginally better goals per minute ratio than Foster. Also worth noting that Barnes has had more benefit from playing in what most would view as stronger line ups.

I’m not saying Foster is or isn’t going to prove a good signing, but I don’t think the way we set up necessarily leads to a reliance/requirement for a large percentage of our goals to come from the centre forward. We could sign a better forward than Foster this summer and still not see a large number of goals from them next season.

Not sure Foster was the reason we didn’t win last night either. We wasted several good chances and positions, but he wasn’t the culprit in the main. No doubt his critics will argue he would have scored if he’d taken up better positions, but that’s a pretty subjective discussion without sitting down and pouring over the game tape.

The runs are there, we are struggling to find him. It will come, it’s about players gelling and getting used to the style.

There is a player there, his flashes of quality are becoming more regular.

He tackled a player on the half way line yesterday, surged forward thirty yards and played a great through ball. There was a point where he tackled a player on the left hand side of the pitch and pinged a 50 yard pass to Roberts in space on the opposite side.

The rest of the season should give us a good indication of his level but I do believe there is quality there (even though it is a bit raw).

As a side note it’s the first time Twine impressed me, his movement and technical ability was on display for the first time.

thing is, others highlight that he's not stretching the onion bag and think that's his only job. I spotted the same as you above and it does show he's certainly capable. I'm personally not worried about how many he scores, but how much he is influencing us scoring; how much he contributes, and I think he'll be just fine.

I think the signs are there that he soon will. There was two opportunities yesterday where Vitinho was through and could have crossed it to Foster who was in a great position but he decided to turn back.

There is a lot of support and sympathy for Foster, but the aspects of his play which people are getting excited about should come from a a professional footballer at this level. Just wonder what the reaction would be about him if we were fighting relegation at the other end. There were three or four moments last night where great balls were delivered low across their goal and he was no where near. He was a record signing for VK as a goal scorer but cant see him scoring in the remaining four games. Feel sorry for Obefami who has hardly started all season and never gets more than 10 minutes
