That was absolutely pathetic but nothing new there. 24 points is laughable.

Fresh start needed.

What the hell was that huddle in the middle of the pitch about?

VK trying to show he still has some kind of authority?

The phrase you can't polish a turd springs to mind. Kompany bought the turd, he coaches the turd, he excuses the turd, time for a new guy with a different cloth ?

Presumably something purely for the cameras. What’s wrong with the dressing room for stuff like that?

Desperate stuff after a wretched season.

Awful before the game too. Compared to Newcastle, who turned up, had a few drinks, just supported their team and went home, chalk and cheese. They’ve always had a chip on their shoulder.

I mean, I think it’s pretty obvious what it was about. Picking the players up. Why do I get the feeling had he not done it, you would have been on criticising him for that instead..

I have never seen that happen outside of cup games.

Just another weird thing for VK to do.

Well thank god that’s over. The least competitive I have ever seen us in a division. A manager who was so far out of his depth it was painful to watch, as was his hubris. All this accompanied by a staggering inability, or unwillingness, to learn. I laughed out loud when I saw the suggestion that two other EPL teams might want him. I think he will end up being filed with so many star players who have failed as managers at the highest level, but it is likely we are stuck with him now so can only hope that he spends some time reflecting on his own shortcomings and uses that reflection as a springboard to give himself one more chance at the PL. Whether he likes it or not, he is damaged goods now and has a long way to go to restore his reputation.

We should have done a huddle like that after palace or West Ham at home, not at the end of last game when half the fans were already in the beer garden

Hard to disagree with this.

The VK pull was a big factor in attracting the players we did 2 years ago.

It won’t be the same now.

Course the pull will be the same, if not better, look at what tella and Maatsen have gone on to do.

Also look at minutes given to young players this season. Yes it’s cost us our place in the league but if you are a young player you are looking at Burnley and thinking I’m going to play lots of games

Exactly this. Says a lot that Esteve signed in January knowing he’d likely be in the Champ next season & Sambo has signed a pre-contract.

Someone like Odobert, yes he was around 8m but the amount of minutes under his belt now.

People can say players will look at likes of benson and muric who got us up and have been cast aside but if they want to sign they will back themselves to keep their place if we go back up again

Yes, the success of Tella and Maatsen are fair points, but there’s a dozen young players that have stalled if not regressed.

So many haven’t been given minutes, for various reasons, and there’ll be many that feel they haven’t been given a fair crack of the whip.

And those that have played have been mismanaged through poor tactics, week after week, and are shot of confidence.

Yeah, VK still has pull, I’m not denying that, but there’s no longer that X factor anymore.

VK was touted as Pep’s successor, but to some he is just another failed big name to go with Lampard and Gerrard. There’s work to do to turn that perception around.

I agree to an extent but look at the failures as well. I don’t agree, I really don’t think VKs pull is a good as you think now.

There’s been two or three successes but on the whole the vast majority have failed.

I wouldn’t say there’s any young players who haven’t had minutes, apart from Massengo who had been without a club most of the summer so I don’t think it took much pull to sign him.

The failures haven’t all been young players, it’s all relative though isn’t it, players have failed in the premier league but if a player is thinking of signing for us in the championship they are going to look at us in the championship season.

The hardest pull for kompany right now for me will be getting certain players back on side and motivated to go again for a long championship season, likes of muric, zaroury , benson and even someone like Roberts if we end up having to keep him to.

This will be the most intriguing summer because summer 2022 was all the unknown, we knew we needed lots of new players. This summer will be constant links to our players moving, whether that be due to clauses or loan agreements who knows

Yep. We’ve given the third most amount of minutes to u21 players across Europe’s top 5 leagues this season. Young players will want to come and play here next season. To be honest we don’t need many additions if we keep a core, which Kompany seems to be alluding to.

Just remembered, according to VK it was the first game on our way back to success. Going well so far, 100% loss record on his new dawn.
