Watch Nugent get the winner.
Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Suppose a Saturday afternoon game is too much to ask.
Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Made up with that draw. Should be a brilliant atmosphere over at Deepdale.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
First ever FA Cup meeting in 150 years?
Going back to my previous post I’ve reflected on it and thought that if Parker plays a weakened side and loses to a local rival in our first ever cup meeting, many fans will call for him to go. If we somehow fail to go up anyway, many won’t forgive him.
So I really, really hope he is clever here and does the right thing. Feels important.

Ignore my Thursday comment - it was the League Cup semi played last Thursday.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Hope it's not a daft kick off time. The media don't half drag this out, from a Thursday to a Tuesday.
Saturday at 3:0 please.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Let’s see how this weekend goes - I’ve seen them quite a bit on TV this season and they’re a poor, poor side. We’re absolutely fantastic away from home. I’d be less confident at the Turf in all honesty.

This weekend will be no real guide, as we'll likely put out two different teams for the respective games.jedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:30 pmLet’s see how this weekend goes - I’ve seen them quite a bit on TV this season and they’re a poor, poor side. Saying it'll be easy though is rather arrogant and stinks of their own fans in the past with their "we are superior" chants.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Your thinking with your heart. We just have to get up this year, to better secure the future of a leveraged buy out Club. I am pretty confident that we can get to round 6 without 4 or 5 of our first 11 starting.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:29 pmOf course, but we cannot take that chance against PNE. We’ll never hear the end of it if we lose and they get to Wembley a round later. Many of us work side by side with them.

What is this trend to put almost EVERY local derby at lunchtime, all over the country?
This season is the first time I’ve noticed it.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
With the one on I Player now and the one on ITV tomorrow it will be 10 matches televised out of 16 4th-round ties.DAVETHEVICAR wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:21 pmGreat draw and won’t be on TV so probably Saturday 3 pm kick off
There are only 8 ties in the 5th round so every chance it be televised live somewhere.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Not really a single stand out tie in that lot. Millwall Palace (probably) would have been interesting at the Den. Agree that we'll probably end up Saturday or Sunday lunchtime.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Would normally have said promotion - however winning a cup competition and having your name on it lasts forever whereas promotion lasts 12 months followed by manager sackings / players leaving / fans panicking etc

I was thinking less expense, but I get your logic!

I'm just sick of all the away draws we've had.

Same here for PL Matches. Paramount for Championship games.

Benson,Shelvey, Redmond and Johnson will be fitter by the time this game is played.Id hardly call Worrell weak.It will not be a weak sideCrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:25 pmFirst ever FA Cup meeting in 150 years?

A good chance to reach a first quarter final since 2003.
But then so was non league Lincoln at home!
