Iain Dale wants Brexit.

Like a lot of Brexiteers, he believes in it so much that he's lost the ability to see any potential issues with it and assumes everything is the fault of the EU.

Bit like the berk who rang in really.

Talking about @LBC fame

James O'Brien mentioned me and the cartoon I sent him (by Gary Larson) and the subject of "fear that a duck somewhere is watching you" during mystery hour.

Nigel Farage has just been on the news claiming that the blue passport is the only bit of good news Brexiteers have had for months.

So there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth, all this "post Brexit referendum good news" is all made up.

Those passports will make up for that though.

Great News for workers!!!

Bank of England, that champion of the Workers, has predicted the "risk" of rising wages for lowest paid.

It follows on from comments made by the former head of Marks and Spencers in the run up to the referendum. That having a reduced pool of cheap labour to choose from, will inevitably, mean emplyers will have to pay more to attract staff.

Remainers - "More immigration does not lead to British workers wages being suppressed and lowered.

"If we stop EU immigration that will make the cost of things go up, cos employers will have to pay more to employ people."

And higher wages simply leads to higher inflation!

Pay more for people to work on farms and the cost of fruit and veg goes up.

I've just copied and pasted a post I made earlier:
If it be your will wrote:It's off topic, but I couldn't help but pick up on this, because it cements the idea "Inflation always hits the poorest hardest".

If a 6-pack of tomatoes costs £1, let's take a guess that 20p of that represents the price of labour to plant, pick and pack them. Let's say the tomato picker/planter/packer is on £6/hour. For each hour of his labour he can therefore buy 6 packs of tomatoes.

Now let's say his salary doubled. The price of tomatoes is now £1.20 (tomato inflation rate = 20%). But now for each hour of the picker's labour (at £12/h), he can buy 10 packets of tomatoes. He's a winner.

Equally, if the price of land, fuel, fertiliser etc. represented in the price of tomatoes went up, thus causing the 'tomato inflation', the labourer would be worse of.

Whether inflation is good or bad, or hits the poorest hardest or least, entirely depends on what the cause of the inflation was. (I'm in the "Well, they should pay them more then" camp!)
Higher wages might lead to higher inflation, yes, but your use of the word 'simply' makes it sound like they'll just cancel each other out. They won't. This is just another neoliberal myth. The straightforward logic of "If I get paid more, I'll be better off" is (almost) always indeed correct.

Why should I be? The point is that we are told that by leaving the EU our economy will grow. It won't if growing wages push up inflation. People won't have any more money to spend on British goods as a result.

And here's the hypocrisy. You quote that migrants are being exploited yet the majority of those voting for Brexit, like everyone else, will still look to pay less for their clothing (stuff that's made in Bangladesh etc.) rather than buy British made goods. People will ALWAYS look for the cheapest price, regardless of their political leanings.

Have you got a link for this? If you've accurately represented it, what you say would be a genuine bombshell, and probably the first 'official' recognition that immigration has a wage-suppressing effect. Quite something if the BoE has come right out and said it.

Ringo's postings are fun and I'm sure entertain the Remainers rather than trigger them. You and Damo on the other hand are the boring ones who seem on the verge of constantly being triggered like the little snowflakes you are.

As for Ringo I want to know what he has done to Turtle Bunker as it seems he has completely neutralised its threat on this thread

Whats the matter If it Be Your Will, have you never heard of the Laws of Supply and Demand?

Here's an introduction to it entitled "Economics Basics: Supply and Demand"

Hope all this helps.
You keep doing this! I've said this all along, that mass movement of cheap labour is being used as an economic weapon by employers to suppress wages and working conditions. This is what I consider the major problem of free-movement, despite its many other benefits. I'm agreeing with you, you daft apeth. The only difference between you and I is that you blame the foreigners whereas I blame the system.

Edit - anyway, I think the crucial bit from your links is this one. And you're right, it does sound like an admission that immigration has been suppressing wages:

“I would also highlight the slowdown of inflows of foreign workers into the UK which may make pay growth here perhaps more sensitive to the tightening in domestic conditions than it has been previously,” he said.

As for Ringo I want to know what he has done to Turtle Bunker as it seems he has completely neutralised its threat on this thread

Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Hold my hand up! i'm that used to one of the usual gaggle of Remoaners jumping in I've got used to going on the offensive. Best means of defence and all that!

"The only difference between you and I is that you blame the foreigners whereas I blame the system."

Then there is no difference bewteen us my friend! Im against the EFFECTS of uncontrolled mass immigration. Im NOT against immigrants. Im concerned with the, suppressive, EFFECTS it has not just on wages, but on social cohesion, already stretched public services, pollution, the increased demands it puts on limited energy supplies, crumbling infastructue, and the blood bank. There's is a world of diffference. A world. Between that and simply hating immigrants.

Its just a pity that the usaul of, too easily excited hysterical Remoaners, dont take the time to actually read my posts, instead of rushing in with their opinion that is based on a preconceived notion of what I meant. But hey, Im old and ugly enough to do a Ternent and take it on the chin! ;)

Back to the subject of workers being forced to join a race to the bottom in wages. I think we both know, without being told, that an over supply of anything leads to a weakening in the price which can be achieved for it. What I dont get is this.( And I say this as an ex Labour Party member. ) Why the current Left who's side were always supposed to be there to defend the rights of those at the very bottom of the pile. Simply cannot see the effects of their pro EU stance and its insistence on the supply of a permanent pool of cheap, low skilled labour. And its very negative effect it has on the barginning power, prospects, and living standards of British workers.

Karl Marx said capitalism demands a pool of unempolyed to profit from.

Being in the EU, means that the British worker is, effectively, in competition with every unemployed person in Europe!

Anyway, I think you were far too generous calling me a "daft ha'porth" I think a "daft quart'porth" would be more accurate! :D

The Turtles Head has been suspiciously quiet, and I have to admit I may have had more than a little influence on why the Zero in a Half Shell hasnt been quite as productive lately. Ive infitrated the Bunker with undercover agents to scupper the internal workings of his vast Bond villain-like subterranean complex!

Given Imploding Turtles Head's hard left politics, and he runs the Turtle Bunker on a Venezuala-style progressive left basis. My people have infiltrated his Politically Correct, LBGTXYZ workers representatives, and the Bunker trades unions. Who've brought the place to a stans still. I hear that their negotiations make Brexit look like a walk in the park. Something to do with the furnaces down there, not being Trans neutral inclusive enough, and the liquid being used, being nowhere near as gender fluid enough to satisfy the demands of the ethnic minority quotas. All this, on top of a particularly heated late night rally he was obliged to attend. It was just latest, in a long series of, demands from the special sadism wing of the Turtle Bunker Gay rights lobby. Apparently, they gave him a right mouthful and ended up having him over a barrel...... What!? :o

Im not resting on my laurels though. I believe he's still on the UTC messageboard, but using one or more of his various user log in names. Dont worry, I have contacts. He thinks he's incognito. He's not..........
