if any players wants to leave, then let them. they were not good enough to keep us in the Prem for a start. we are rebuilding, have a new manager with a different style of play and new standards. if they don't want to be here and they are not up for the challenge, then goodbye. like VK stated, the phone book is big.

Call me cynical but I can’t see us spending £3.5m on a backup left back, especially when they’ve just given Dodgson a new contract. If there is anything in this it would suggest its in preparation for Taylor being sold.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 7:56 pmhttps://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2 ... n-doumbia/

It seems obvious to me that Cornet and McNeil will want to play in the premier league. I really can’t see us keeping either of them. I’d be delighted if I was wrong though.

Read it. Nothing but rumors. Belongs on the rumors thread!
Maybe he had a knock, was feeling unwell, was sent by VK to the fitness unit, or was in Paris negotiating the final stages of his 3m release clause transfer to PSG.
People literally just pulling crap out of thin air and guessing.

Lad at the open training session confirmed they were told McNeil was receiving some treatment and its nothing too serious.
Can we refrain from alarmist guesswork on outgoings, if possible.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Just had a look at the European transfers so far, Collins is 23rd by descending price. Above him are mainly Premier League incomings with few others, Madrid, Dortmund, PSG but not much else.
So at the prices we are looking to sell at, there isn’t much going on. When we get into the £30m area, that’s strikers like Haller. We don’t have anyone that good. Even Haaland, Phillips, Richarlison, Sterling etc are only around £50m initially. They are twice the player any of ours are.
So when we allow for not having a choice with some players leaving, we are having a fantastic window so far. Judge in September of course.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
There are suggestions that the market is a bit depressed this window compared to recent years. Free agents aren't getting the deals they hoped for and transfer fees are lower.
Struggling economies, increasing cost of borrowing/more difficult access to finance, increased costs, etc are all going to impact on football clubs too.

Apologises if this has already been posted, but it looks like Hennessey to Forest will be completed soon. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/footbal ... 810ab1e18
I didn't realise Wayne was in the final year of his contract, so in that sense I can see why we'd accept a modest bid just to get his wages off the books.
Sounds like he'll be battling with Henderson to be first choice at Forest mind you.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Ah! right, it's gone quiet on Muric which is worrying, because in my view neither BPF or Norris are up to being our main keeper, even at Championship level, and as we'll now have an inexperienced backline a solid keeper has to be a given I'd have thought.

If VK doesn't fancy him, then fair enough
Isn't Norris still here as back up as well?
Norris still here but you always need a 3rd choice anyway.
Its known we were working on a deal to sign Muric, possibly we needed those funds from Collins to make it happen, just a guess.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Norris at best is 3rd choice, and heard someone was interested in him a few months ago. Peacock Farrell is a NO. The thought of him behind such a young defence does not bear thinking about. We need two good keepers and always happy with Hennessy as No 1 , but I guess his head has been turned now

Need Dwight and Cornet to stay.
Hopefully Muric over the line soon.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I don't usually have any 'inside knowledge' on transfers, so stay out of it. However, through work this morning been speaking to a Coventry City insider - I'm told that the lad O'Hare has been offered 25k p/w to join Burnley. He's currently on approx £8k at Coventry and his agent is desperate to make it happen (obviously). Clubs are still negotiating on the fee.

Sounds promising if true, and I'd hope we can get Muric and O'Hare over the line in the next few days, now we've got the proceeds of the Collins sale at our disposal.DukeOfBar wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 11:41 amI don't usually have any 'inside knowledge' on transfers, so stay out of it. A proper right footed attacking midfielder has been a requirement for 3-4 years. Lets hope this can progress-he is highly thought of down here.Believe only 1 year left on contract too

Solid rumour - as long as the Cov insider isn’t that Cov fan who made up he was on a plane home to join us last week.DukeOfBar wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 11:41 amI don't usually have any 'inside knowledge' on transfers, so stay out of it. I’d like O’Hare, maybe with our new cash boost we’ll be able to push a deal through.

Providing nobody else but Hennessy leaves, I think O'Hare, a striker and a goalkeeper and our business is done.
Would be 9 out, 9 in.
Then we've got to wait and see what happens with Cornet and a couple of others.

Tend to agree get O'Hare and a new keeper in, and then prioritise a young striker, who I have no idea, but I'm hopeful Vinny will pull a rabbit out of hat.UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 12:26 pmProviding nobody else but Hennessy leaves, I think O'Hare, a striker and a goalkeeper and our business is done.

Not much we can do about Cornet if the reported release clause is met, and others may attract interest, but it's worth considering some of our existing youngsters might make the step up, Dodgson for example if Charlie goes.

We've apparently bid £8m for Piroe at Swansea.
Would be a hell of a signing - doubt we'd get him for anywhere under £10m though.
