In this window, we will not sell WO at a profit.

12m Euros is the widely reported fee.

My stance is that anyone in their right mind would want to look and see how this talented yet occasionally threatening and lightweight youngster gets on at champ level for 6 months or so first.

Why? When they've already seen him play well in the Premier League in a shite team? He's recently stepped up to the French U21's squad and has shown he can score some great goals in the PL, again, in a shite team.

He's not worth £50m like some posters are banging on about, but we'd get £15m for him just for his potential alone.

If he's sold this summer, you'll lose the bet. Make it £40?

Well clearly they do care because its generating spirited debate of a good nature and If Salou wants to put his money where his mouth is then perhaps even more good will come of it.

No chode measuring from my POV just discussing potential transfers in and out as per the subject tagline.

Odobert will be at the bare minimum, worth 40m to 50m in 2 or 3 seasons.
Another sweeping statement. Just what elements of his game have you seen to warrant such a Trump-style claim?

It's a specific statement, not a sweeping one and it is because I am one of the 1% in here that gets it right regarding a player's talent... Those that can't spot his talent should probably take up netball instead... I am so confident he will go for at least 40m at some stage over the next 3 to 5 seasons if he stays injury-free that I will promise to start walking through Burnley town centre in full Blackburn Rovers kit if he doesn't.

Athletic report the other day from Andy Jones named Odobert, Trafford and Berge as 3 that could leave as there is an ‘acceptance 4 first team regulars could leave to play at the highest level’ with Muric considered 1/4. LongsideClaret, accurate with other information, has also mentioned them. As of yet there hasn’t really been any links with Berge and Odobert except Fenerbache being interested in the former.
Every time LongsideClaret says we’re selling Berge and Odobert I die a little inside. I’m thinking of adding him to my for list on those grounds :D

It’s the reason I can’t get optimistic about the season actually - we have no idea who’ll be here and not, or whether they’ll be suitably replaced.

I think it’s likely we’ve downgraded our GK department significantly this window, I can’t see us replacing Berge with a better midfielder, so that will be downgraded. Odobert has adequate cover within, but well then lose out on a much bigger fee than if we kept him. Inevitable, I know, but doesn’t mean I have to enjoy watching it transpire.

Without supplying any names, bloke in the pub says Trafford to be sold and replaced by either of Parker's previous keepers at Bournemouth and Fulham. Or possibly both.

Longside said as much yesterday. Looks more likely to be Travers than Rodak at the moment . Also Nixon quoted we wanted Rodak but wages were the issue.

I can’t see us signing both after Hladky has already joined which correlates with what Longside said about the third keeper being promoted from youth .

Waller or Casper?

And for a second time I will ask you to tell me please those 'talents' you have seen that allow you to be so bullish about his price tag in 2027 or even 2029. I don't really care what you care to wear walking through Burnley Town centre.

Apologies if already mentioned but it seems Chelsea are about to sign another keeper from Villarreal. You'd assume Trafford won't be going there then.

Really rate O'Brien. Had a weird couple of seasons after not playing much at Forest and the move to Rovers falling through. But he was immense for Huddersfield when they reached the play off final. Was the best player on the pitch by some distance that day at Wembley.

Good player.

Feel we need a few of these 'boring' type signings (along with Hladky) to supplement our talent, and we will be fine.

He's still only 25.
Would be a good, solid signing, probably with an option to buy.

We will not sell Wilson Odobert in this transfer window at a profit.

Pin that on your wall, stick it in your calendar.

Believe we paid €11-12m for him.

Don’t think he’ll be on his way for £8m, or anything south of £25m for that matter.

O’Brien on loan should be a no brainer even if brownhill or berge don’t leave. Let bastien and twine leave and bring O’Brien in.

Berge
Brownhill
Cullen
Massengo
O’Brien

Nixon says we are just monitoring but down the pecking order. Sheffield United seems the more likely destination. I expect we need big outgoings before sanctioning.

As much as I agree that O'Brien is a decent player, I do feel Brownhill needs a bit more respect against his name.

JB has played 111 games in the Premier League, O'Brien has only managed 13 to date. I'm not doubting O'Brien is quality in the Championship, but Brownhill was one of the best players in the league two years ago and was rightly named in the PFA team of the season. If we field a midfield three of Cullen, Berge and Brownhill in August, we'll walk the Championship.

Totally agree re Brownhill. He is awesome in the Championship and if we keep Berge, an absolute must in my view and Cullen, another absolute must not lose player we storm this league.

Josh is a leader which we badly need and he’s a Claret also - priceless !

Harrison Reed a player known to Scott Parker would be a good loan .A box to box tenacious cm.
Wasn't he a regular for Fulham last season? He's probably likely to play more this season after losing Paulinha.

Sheff Utd will have a strong midfield if they sign O'Brien to go with Hamer and O'Hare.

Believe we paid €11-12m for him.

Don’t think he’ll be on his way for £8m, or anything south of £25m for that matter.
Will draw a line under it at this post cause I don't want to dominate the discussion but it doesn't matter whether me you or the club think his value is 10m, 25m or a 100m.

His value is whatever a club interested in him is prepared to offer and I will hang my hat that precisely zero clubs think he will be worth 25m in this window. I'm not saying that won't be the case in future.

No more on this now.

Reed is 30 in January - i know its a new gaffer but he doesn't seem to fit the profile

Personally Sheff Utd will not be a threat to us.
QPR, Stoke and Dirty Leeds are the teams to watch imo

Heard or read does it really matter? - this is a rumours and links thread, read the title!!
There’s a complete difference to saying you’ve heard something to reading it somewhere. But thanks for confirming you didn’t hear anything you read it from an account on X known for making stuff up. You’ve had this in the know act since the club where looking for a new manager and since then you haven’t said anything of any substance
