Very attacking fullback by the sounds of things. Could we be preparing the go with wing backs at times this season?
To be honest it scares me. That's why I posted before I feel he's only going to be useful if we attack.
There's going to be so many games next season where we will be pinned back and so few where he will be able to get forward.

3 centre backs (one a great long passer like THB), a new left wing back/Pires and Anthony as a right wing back.

Would expect them to both go for modest fees with sell on clauses. Same for Dodgson. At the age where they are unlikely to break into our team, especially at Premier League level and won’t want to just play in the 21’s having now had Football League games and performed at that level.

Best for all concerned.

Maybe modest fees but we should have big sell on clauses

Costelloe linked to Wigan now too.

What's that, Burnley signing a young player to a contract extension in order to get a fee for them? A crazy idea, it'll never catch on.

Romano saying Burnley and Newcastle negotiating for Trafford

Wouldn't be against taking someone like Longstaff, Burn or Willock in part ex if they can't get near to the figure we want (hopefully 35m).

At the risk of being labelled ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with former players coming back it wouldn't be the end of the world if Pope came the other way.

Traff has to be £40m or Longstaff and cash £30m
Not Willock.

Reading their fans comments they expect to start spending again from July. I can only imagine it’s because of a new financial year for FFP. I’d expect either a cash plus player (which I’d prefer given the sell on city may have) or a no messing 40m offer.

Taking Newcastle players in part exchange would surely mean paying a smaller sell on fee to Man City

Pretty sure we will have more than 1 or 2 wally's play for us. If he is excellent that's the part that matters.

Isn't what we would have to pay City based on the value of the whole deal?

Yep, if it is not cash then the fee would be based on the market value of the player going the other way (obviously difficult to ascertain).

Slightly complicated in that there is a short-term PSR benefit for inflating the transfer values when you have players going both way (such as in the Maatsen deal which was potentially inflated by £15m or so) but obviously you don't want an inflated price for a sell-on clause.

Looking like there won’t be much official movement until July 1st , presumably due to PSR nonsense.

Until a deal is signed, it isn't guaranteed. If we sit on deals for a week, we risk them going elsewhere.

Not quite sure what point you are making ? My friend is a season ticket holder, he watches all the home games and many away games. I would imagine that Weiss’ behaviour in general has led my mate to come to the conclusion that “he’s a prick” - but he has also said that he is a good goalkeeper. As others have stated Muric behaved like a prick and sometimes Trafford does things that maybe reflect badly on him but it guest make them bad keepers.

Ryan Taylor (reliable source): "Feyenoord left-back Quilindschy Hartman undergoing medical at #BurnleyFC ahead of permanent transfer to Turf Moor. Deal worth £10.25m, £7.7m initial fee plus £2.55m in add-ons (€9m + €3m), as reported in Sunday Mirror".

Decent price I'd say.

As long as he's the same player that he was before his 2 cruciate injuries. I'm confident he'll be a great signing for us though.

Exactly, we sell them Trafford for £20 million, plus four players whom we and NU publicly agree are worth a million each. Newcastle's FFP problem of selling us those four for only 4 million being offset by the bargain price they pay for JT.

The rest of the squad might.

It's a team game where morale and camaraderie are important factors. One arsehole can do a lot of damage in the dressing room.

I wouldn't expect you to appreciate that though.
