Why the pages long obsession with Adam’s?
I look at all the clickbait sites & haven’t seen anything about him.
Just doesn’t seem to fit with what we’re trying to do.

£20 million for Toure a young kid who scored 7 goals for Almeria in La Liga also we will probably have to match his six year deal as well.

It's been reported across multiple sites that we are interested in him.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 2:47 pmWhy the pages long obsession with Adam’s?

It was just reported on TeamTalk who are one of the least reliable sources around.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
However some of those places like Nottingham News refer to Teamtalk as their sauce and I turn they “ understand” that Burnley are interested.
It’s the way the rumour mill works. However I think we can deduce that a few players are on their way out of Southampton and ourselves and Everton need strikers, Leeds have tried to sign him before and Forest try and sign everyone so there you have your field of candidates.
All the fun and games of the window.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I really don't understand your point. I simply responded to someone who suggested they hadn't seen anything about it. It's been reported in multiple places - I made no reference to the source or its reliability because that was irrelevant.

City are apparently loaning Cole Palmer out this season according to Craig Hope (Daily Mail).
Would we take him? Surely we'd have something approaching first dibs if we desired it.

With how bonkers and out the blue some of our signings were last season, wouldn’t be surprised if the striker we end up signing isn’t anyone that has been linked so far

As expected Milner as signed in at BHA.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I’d definitely take him. You’d think given how we play that we’d be an attractive option for him and City (plus the obvious Kompany factor).jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:07 pmCity are apparently loaning Cole Palmer out this season according to Craig Hope (Daily Mail).

Signing verbuggen for that fee now makes more sense if Muric is off, I had thought he would move but maybe in Jan or the end of the season. Once we got linked to the Leyton Orient keeper as well it seemed likely that we expected Muric to move as well as BPF.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 1:25 pmAthletic suggesting that Muric could be on his way out if Verbruggen comes in.
That would be interesting given loads of fans thought they would battle it out for the number 1 role

Maybe it’s just me but Muric seems to be a bit of an unusual character. I don’t know him at all but he always appears a bit distant from his team mates. I think his actual goalkeeping has improved a lot during the season and based on that alone I would be amazed if he was allowed to leave so there must be other reasons. It was reported that he spent a huge amount on a bar tab at the end of the season. Nothing wrong with that if true but who knows what goes on behind the closed doors of any football club

Might be due to the fact that he's one of the very few players we've been linked with that posters are familiar with and have an opinion on.

That reads like Anderlecht using a journo to get Burnley bidding a bit more.
They don't give any facts in these 'so and so club are closer' tweets.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think there will be a lot of posters on here disappointed a few times before the season starts. But we won't get everyone we're after this window. If we get Tella, Maatsen, a creative midfielder and proven goal scorer then we'll be OK next season.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:10 pmFabrizo Romano saying Brighton are almost there in the race for Verbruggen

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
To be fair, Sacha got more right last summer (and in January) than any journalist ever has in terms of consistency regarding Burnley. That is not to contradict what Romano is saying as we all know how reliable he is, but one can only assume something has changed between then and now as opposed to either party being 'wrong'.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:20 pmOh ek vegas claret said sacha was tier 1 because he was followed by Romano yet Romano contradicts sacha

He knew about the ones from Belgium...because he's based in Belgium.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:29 pmSacha only knew about benson and zaroury out of 18 or 19 signings people clinging onto him far to much
He also knew about Jackson Muleka (chose Besiktas instead of us) and Samuel Bastien, as well as Lyle Foster and Ameen Al-Dakhil before anyone else had even heard of these players.

Clubs and agents will use the credible media to force hands as often as they pass on genuine info. The media will understand this is part of the deal.
As fans we never know which of those two things is happening for any given story. Better to watch the rollercoasters go by than be on them if you want to stay sane.

What has Sacha done to you123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:33 pmThat every other outlet in Belgium already knew about, he didn’t know about Vitinho that’s for certain

Be that as it may regarding Vitinho (who was out of the blue entirely, there was not a single mention of him from anyone as I recall then all of a sudden he was coming off the bench at Huddersfield) - he has had the inside track on numerous transfers from the Belgian league to Burnley. That is without question so it seems a strange thing to have a bee in your bonnet about. Things change in transfers - we may well have been leading the way with Verbruggen a matter of days ago, but if Brighton have stepped it up a notch with Tony Bloom's vast resources, then that's the way it is.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Not Burnley related but Brentford have made a £30m offer for Brennan Johnson. I must say that surprised me. Forest saying not close to their valuation. Mental that a club like Brentford is now offering £30m for players.

The Orient keeper would probably be a direct replacement for Norris; to train with the keepers and sit on the bench for Carabao (or whatever they call it) Cup games, or 2nd choice in the event of injury to 1st or 2nd choice.JarrowClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:34 pmSigning verbuggen for that fee now makes more sense if Muric is off, I had thought he would move but maybe in Jan or the end of the season. Understand Brighton are advancing to the final stages of deal to sign talented goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

#BHAFC
Burnley, trying until the end as they want him as priority target but Brighton now closer. Man Utd called to be informed on conditions but no bid.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I am as fascinated as the next person as to which players we will acquire and which will be moving on. I’m not sure, however, that lengthy discussions as to the merits of various journalists, advanced with great firmness, really take us forward at all.
Agents and clubs all have their own varying motives as to what they leak: to promote a signing / to sabotage a signing. To put up the price / to lower the price. Simply to test the water or to generate interest.
BFC and VK have to operate in a difficult market. Misinformation and deception are the stock in trade of many involved.
I think that what we can be confident of is:
1. The past year has shown that the club can find value overlooked by others;
2. Players with ambition beyond the immediate paycheque will see that VK and his team are likely to accelerate their development;
3. VK has worked very hard at identifying targets and has been largely successful.
Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I have confidence that we will
acquire players who will strengthen the squad and excite us.
So we can speculate away, but with a reasonable amount of confidence that we will be pleasantly surprised.

You’re so argumentative though. Literally won’t let something go and have to reply 7 8 or 9 times to try and prove your point. It doesn’t matter! what’s the fricking point of constantly going on and on over something that’s so trivial! (Cue “well he’s the one going on and on and you don’t say anything to hiiimmm”). You’re like a 6 year old child.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 8:26 pmThis is exactly the pettiness vegas is talking about whiffa, after the thread had moved on you then try and carry on and bring it down, you spend your day on the other thread yet you are commenting on this one
